No armadillo hide (shell) will stop a ....I call BS. No armadillo hide (shell) will stop a .38. It either went through him and off of something hard (concrete) or that wasn't a .38. As kids we used to chase them all the time. The trick was to catch them by the tail before they got their front legs into a burrow. You'd pull the tail off before they'd let go.
