If so, allow me to say a word in its defense. It is clearly one of the most sensible blogs appealing to young women. It offers excellent advice, though its large comments section does offer a large variety of opinions.

As best as I can tell its proprietor, Susan Walsh, is a big fan of marriage and of committed relationships for young women. She is certainly not promoting the hookup culture.

For that, she has been viciously attacked by many feminists.

One's daughter could do a lot worse in the world of dating advice.Stuart Schneidermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12784043736879991769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8078379512095504946.post-19820246187595185152011-01-04T05:07:32.111-08:002011-01-04T05:07:32.111-08:00If one takes the time one of the things that stand...If one takes the time one of the things that stands out in history is that ALL of these groups become self limiting and consign themselves to obscurity. One of the tasks conservatives have is to hold off this stupidity until the facts are known, common sense takes place, the group self destructs, et al.
One of the reasons that certain ideas stand the test of time is that they work to provide the best that can be expected for everyone involved. Almost everything else fails because it misreads what people are as a species. The only real thing that changes about people is the technology available to them.
I think most of us recognize this at a certain level, but the desire to find "nirvana" or a "utopia" on Earth, almost always without considering the impact or means to attain it, is strong in each succeeding generation. This is why older and wiser individual need to hold the line until "education" turns into wisdom. Here I use education as the sum total of one's experiences throughout life.
When pondering the thought of whether I would rather have the best education money can buy or wisdom it seems that wisdom always wins because education is just a means and a subset that rarely leads to wisdom on its own merits. Probably the most dangerous people alive are those with a little too much education and very little contact with the wisdom to use it. This is why all of these groups fail in the end.Dennisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8078379512095504946.post-1665753129602756262011-01-03T16:26:11.562-08:002011-01-03T16:26:11.562-08:00P.S. 'Opera' while waiting for the fat woman to sing is another matter.

On the other hand, my youngest daughter has pointed out something called Smart Hooking Up. And over there, I get the impression, they have 'issues' with this particular topic of 'marriage'. As in they want no part of it. Despite all the evidence offered here and elsewhere.

So, as the good doctor points out, the feminists are a self-defeating group, determined to drag the rest of humanity down into the gutter as they slide towards the sewer of oblivion.

Hope that helps....

Regards,

Chuck(le)
[The Truth will out....]Chuck Peltohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00407516830005550495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8078379512095504946.post-21518230112198070232011-01-03T16:02:02.268-08:002011-01-03T16:02:02.268-08:00Here is what they must do: she will teach him to l...Here is what they must do: she will teach him to love the ballet...

I think you can take a break on this one, Chuck. Held back in the early 90s, the feminist 'professor' of constitutional law said there were no such thinks as 'Constitutional Rights'. Rather that they were all 'textual rights'.
