Barker's advice is not self-help, it's self-centered. It's about taking and getting, not contribution.

This is how people end up empty, lonely and depressed. No amount of material wealth or list of "friends" is going to make up for that.

TipAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8078379512095504946.post-45902160495156199012013-12-25T06:38:09.356-08:002013-12-25T06:38:09.356-08:00What is this desire to "make" people lik...What is this desire to "make" people like you? You cannot make people like you. As I have matured I have learned that in most things one cannot make things happen. One has to create the conditions for lasting success in almost everything they do. From that confident base almost everything follows.
If you are kind, considerate, positive, respectful to and interested in the other person you are setting the conditions for a relationship. One has to create the conditions that allow people to see you as you are as a person and enjoy your company.
Be yourself and stop being a "phony." Most people will see right through it. One is not as smart as one thinks they are or are others as dumb as one thinks. Understand that no matter what one does there will be people who will just dislike you because you exist.
The longer I live the more it occurs to me how really simple most things are in life. If you are a good person people will naturally gravitate to you. It is as simple as that.Dennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14962996070458991675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8078379512095504946.post-43001577828235400222013-12-24T20:17:31.597-08:002013-12-24T20:17:31.597-08:00"How to make people like you " sounds li...
