Last night on Greta van Susteren’s show, On the Record, New
Gingrich previewed President Obama’s upcoming trip to the Middle East.
Improvised or rehearsed, it was a brilliant riff on the Obama
Middle East policy. I present it as our pre-trip background briefing.
Gingrich said (my transcription):
The
president will go. He’ll indicate that he’s very strong about Iran as long as
he doesn’t have to do anything, that he really wishes the Palestinians and the
Israelis would quit fighting and that he really hopes that some day they will
have peace, and that he’d like to be courageous in Syria as long as it doesn’t
involve doing anything and he will courageously be for being courageous and he’ll
hope people will realize the level of courage he’s showing by being courageous.
Barack Obama: a profile in courage, don’t you think?
Actually that sums up Obama's political career if not most of his life.
