The President of France, Francois Hollande, the only foreign leader who now supports President Obama's Syria policy. Sometimes, a picture says it all. Needless to say, the Hollande administration has forced this image to be withdrawn.
Is it just me, but I am not surprised by France being involved. They seem much like the current democrats in their actions in almost even area of governance and approach to talking big and eventually being small in the ability to finish what they start. It is amazing how quickly they both want to surrender when the actions they take meet the first set backs or opposition. And people wonder why so many do not seem to have much faith in Obama to actually do something that would be meaningful and maybe be in OUR best interests. If one can so easily state they did not say anything about a "red line," when there is video evidence, it is not difficult to believe that Obama is not conversant with the concept of truth. I would hate to think that was because he is a lawyer??????? The idea of John Kerry trying to sell this would cause me to laugh uproariously if not for the damage he did to many Vietnam veterans with his lies. Too many men had their lives ruined by this French wannabe and faux sophisticate. The said part is that he is far more qualified than the last Secretary of State. I am struck by the fact that most of the justification for this action boils down to protecting America's credibility from an incompetent president's school yard approach to foreign policy. We seem not to be acting in our best interest, but in covering Obama. Color me suspicious because I have spent a life time watching democrats, I was a democrat for a significant number of years before I became an Independent, stab military people in the back after they committed them to some action that wasn't finished in the span of, metaphorically, 30 minutes. If the past is a precursor to the future if this turns into a wider war, given the complexities involved, they will find a way to run and hide while blaming it on Bush, the global community or anything that absolves them from responsibility.
Well, France received Syria and Lebanon as mandates from the Ottoman Empire following the First World War. They held that mandate until just after WW II, so it's probably not all that surprising that they're involved. Most likely they want to recoup on some influence there.
But yeah, given the picture, I think President Hollande and Vice-President Biden would get along swimmingly.
I just want to help him clean out his nostrils with my ice pick. Is that so wrong, Doctor?
ReplyDeleteMAN! That was one powerful drink! But smoooooooooth.
ReplyDeleteIf he was trying to look goofy, then everybody is missing the point.
ReplyDelete@Vanderleun:
The picture makes it look like he already used an orbitoclast earlier in his career, so your ice pick suggestion seems surgically redundant.
