In a Facebook post the highly estimable columnist Caroline
Glick responded to those who have been asking her whether she is happy that a
woman is running for president of the United States.
Here is what Glick said:
For
what it's worth, I am sick and tired of being asked if I am excited as a woman
that Hillary Clinton is running for president.
The short answer is no.
In a bit more detail, I think that anyone who views Clinton as a feminine or feminist role model has no idea what it means to be a working woman.
Here are the facts: Hillary married her way into her career, just like Evita Peron. Her career is entirely a product of her marriage.
And it isn't like her meal ticket husband is a pioneer of women's rights. He's a sexual predator.
Hillary Clinton was never in the dark about Bill's character. She's been a full partner in his escapades in the sense that she has enabled his obscene behavior, loudly, unapologetically, without hesitation or an ounce of shame, from the very beginning.
As a woman, I am embarrassed and insulted that the first woman the Democrats ever chose to nominate for president is Hillary Clinton. The fact that they couldn't get behind a self-made woman like Carly Fiorina shows that their supposed concern for women is complete nonsense.
She doesn't represent women anymore than Donald Trump does.
This is fair and balanced and reasoned.
I will note that many women are far more hostile to Hillary Clinton than even I
am. They believe that she represents their gender badly… if at all. As one
young woman explained to me the other day: If women know anything, they know other women. When women look at Hillary Clinton they are horrified that she represents
them.
A woman is running for president?
ReplyDeleteWhen you'be been fired from the Watergate investigative team for ethical misconduct and lying, and have failed the DC bar exam, it's time to hitch your wagon to a different star.

ReplyDeleteOne would hope that women are wise to Hillary, but ................
Have we seen this dismay in the polls of women? Are women lying to pollers? Where is Ares to refute this?
ReplyDeleteGlick's comment about Hillary being like Eva Peron is especially funny, given that Hillary's policies are Peronist. Don't cry for me, America...
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Ares Olympus is a Peronist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peronism
It's agreed, we should not vote for Hillary merely because she's a woman, even if my 91 year old family matriarch thinks so.
ReplyDeleteWe should vote for her because she's not a joke candidate like Donald Trump. As they say "Vote for the crook, its important." might be Hillary's ideal motto.

I do hope the Clintons clear that Clinton Foundation conflict of interest soon.
Truth be told, I'm still open for a Jill Stein vote, if that makes Caroline feel any better.
Ideally Gary Johnson will make the first presidential debate, and they'll add Stein as a political counter balance, but I'm not holding my breath. How do you convince a committee controlled by republicans and democrats to not exclude their competition?

The "joke candidate" is Hillary. And the joke's on us.
DeleteWhich is why I'm voting for the woman Mightier Than A Pickle Jar. You know, the serious one in a $12,000 tent who hired a former "figurehead", married to a cyberflasher, as a personal assistant.
:-D

At least he's not a corrupt, craven liar.
"I do hope the Clintons clear that Clinton Foundatiom conflict of interest soon."
Now THAT is hilarious. And maybe they can create a homebrew server to protect them from any trace of that conflict. Oh, that's right... they already did that, and she got off scot free. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
A leopard cannot shed her spots.
Vote for Hillary, Ares. Enjoy.
The rich have to pay their fair share. To the Clinton Foundation.
ReplyDelete262 days (and counting) since her last press conference. What a candidate! I thought women liked conversation and exchange.
ReplyDeleteTrump should put up a "Days Since Crooked Hillary's Last Press Conference" clock/counter in Times Square... a few blocks from our National Debt Clock.
Not a HRC fan but why do people have no qualms about blaming her for her husband's behavior and also the behavior of the women with which he chose to dally with? The women were exploited by BC but what about personal responsibility on their part to stop it or not fall into his trap. They were not all 19 year old ga-ga interns don't forget. Yes she stayed in a marriage most of us could not stomach for reasons of personal gain. It is regrettable but I'm not feeling the platitudes so many others are dishing her way.
ReplyDeleteIt's all a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, according to the non-joke, sooper serious candidate, Hillary.
DeleteI disagree, though. Given the Clintons have moved beyond renting the Lincoln Bedroom and stealing the White House silverware, it must have been a Half-Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.
Bflo, she's not blamed for his behavior, she's blamed for being an active accessory after the fact of that behavior. Also, no doubt, for staying with him all these years.

Oh yes, I agree. Especially the ones Bill raped in hotel rooms while under the protection of the Arkansas state police detail. That's a klassi touch, eh? And I don't recall seeing Hillary running to their aid... she was always too busy trying to cover up his "bimbo eruptions" with the campaign staff. JFK was a helluva role model for Bill, huh? Ahh, Camelot!
In terms of the "regrettable reasons" for her staying in her marriage, they may be projections of regret for you... but I have serious doubts whether Hillary has any regrets at all. She may strike us as a woman scorned, but I've never heard her actually vocalize those kinds of sentiments, I've just heard rumors of shoe-throwing in the White House residence. But she's always there talking about "my husband, my husband" when it suits her, so I write off all the empathetic stuff from others for the tripe that it is. She doesn't care about her "marriage," why should they? They're all after the same thing: power.
What I am concerned about is what she'll do with executive power, and what they'll do with their power as executive appointees.
I wonder what Goofy Senator Squaw thinks of all this. I would think the vagina qualification for president would be quite important to her.
