If you are reading the press you have the impression
that the American people are rising up en masse to protest Donald Trump’s
recent order restricting immigration from certain Muslim countries.
About which, Katie Hopkins offers some sobering words in The
Daily Mail. I quote them without commentary:
Have
you noticed? There has been more outrage from the left over Trump’s so-called
Muslim ban, than over terror itself.
More
gnashing of gums and loud wailing, more placards decrying the plight of a few
tourists and travellers, than over the bodies blown apart by Islamic extremists
at Brussels airport in March last year.
So much
collective outrage, in fact, I wonder how on earth a ban imposed by 16
countries on Israeli citizens has remained in place for quite so long with such
quiet acceptance….
What has led us to this latest executive order is not only Islamic extremists knifing, shooting, stabbing and exploding peaceful citizens in the West, but also the abject failure of the wider Muslim community to denounce these vile acts.
It is
troubling to many that after each terrorist act there is largely silence from
the families and communities that raised the terrorists and from the mosques
that they frequented. Imams seldom condemn terror. And in their silence, in the
void, acceptance, encouragement even, is assumed.
Because the US sets the template for all the world through media and academia, its brand of Globalism will be deeply ruinous to all nations around the world.
ReplyDeleteIf, as globalists claim, the US is so great because it intervenes in all parts of the world and takes in innumerable 'refugees', illegal migrants, and immigrants, then that policy becomes the template for the rest of the world whose intellectuals and cultural elites take cues from the US.
Just look at the state of Europe. There was a time when leaders like Thatcher said, "US is philosophy, Europe is history." But new elites of Europe want to 'Americanize' the Old World with the rules of the New World.
Because whatever the US does has a great impact on the world, the US must stop with its invade-invite lunacy. It not only harms the US and the nations that are invaded(mostly in the Middle East and North Africa) but all those sucker-nations that slavishly imitate everything the US does.
If US decides to go over the cliff, much of the world will follow.
Because the US billed itself as 'nation of immigrants', the EU followed, and look at the dire problems this 'Americanization' caused.
Mass Immigration is demographic imperialism.
Netanyahu is right to support's Trump's wall idea.

ReplyDeleteI'm starting to really enjoy all this manufactured "outrage." It's rather humorous to watch the humorless self-immolate, using Soros money. So much for feeling the Bern and hyperventilating about the power of millionaires and billionaires. Remember when the brainiac media hotshots Trump's implosion was always tomorrow, then the next day, then the next...? It seems that Trump's opponents are coming unglued, and Trump continues to implement his agenda. Translation: all this phony rage and rank hypocrisy isn't working. We're witnessing a mass emotional implosion happening in slow motion.
ReplyDeleteBingo
ReplyDeleteAin't it gooooood?
ReplyDeleteDEAR SIR,
ReplyDeleteI've looked & looked for that executive order in the federal register and at white-house dot gov... and I can't find it
HAS The Donald pulled another fast one on the press?
Old man two sticks
Just read that a mosque in Texas was torched over the weekend. The pushback is starting--and long overdue.
ReplyDeleteSo in other words, a condition for entry into this country ought to be a swore statement that condemns "radical islamic terrorism".
ReplyDeleteI'm betting 99.9999% of Muslims who want to go to school here, or want to live here would be willing to sign that.
Of course people can lie, and you know terrorists will lie, so does an oath mean anything? Still if you believe "ritual matters", and religious terrorists, however deluded, they may still oppose lying. And even if they do lie, perhaps their conscience will be troubled after that, and there's still some chance they may change their minds.
And that's the whole problem with preemptive justice - punishing people who MAY act criminally is a poor way to avoid criminal activity. In fact its more likely to create resentment and cause criminal acts, directly or indirectly.
Incidentally, how many of the terrorist in the U.S. have come from these banned countries?
And why is Saudi Arabia not on the list, given their citizens represent a large majority of the 9/11 attackers?
p.s. I see sestamibi's story here. It does say "cause unknown" so calling it "torched" seems premature.

An early-morning fire Saturday destroyed a Texas mosque that was a target of hatred several years ago and experienced a burglary just a week ago.
...
There's been no determination yet for the Austin blaze, Diane Kanawati, with CAIR-Austin, said Saturday.

Old Man Two Sticks is still asking... I just spent hours searching the federal register & the white-house site and I-Net searching like crazy and I can't find a single federal site w/ a reference to an exec order titled "PROTECTING THE NATION FROM FOREIGN TERRORIST ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES"... and yes, I'm old & slow... but I am a retired "rocket scientist" as in "in God we trust- all others bring data!" and I know that trump promised to do these things... but I can't find any proof so far that shows he DID do this thing... and CNN reporting is NOT proof... so humor an old guy & help me out here w/ some proof if you know of any...
ReplyDeletethanks
Thank you Stuart. Your post was on the mark, short and sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe European leaders condemning President Trump are afraid of their own citizens waking up and pushing back.
Only idiots can be blind to the danger Western Europe is in. The whole place is about to descend into chaos.
Thank God, we still have a chance to save America.
Anon,
ReplyDeleteI would suggest that the EO you are looking for has not been entered into the Federal Register because they do not work on week-ends. You probably only found four EO by Trump.
Considering that these protests happen in Blue areas that have large population centers with large numbers of democrats, one might ask whether these protests are large at all. Given that this is Sunday, one can wonder even more so. It does seem that one sees the same faces in the crowd of protestors. Color me skeptical of much of this selective outrage.
What a fun day now that the SAG awards are extant. Never have so many people with so little talent given themselves so many awards.
Here's a blog from Cato on some statistics
ReplyDeletehttps://www.cato.org/blog/little-national-security-benefit-trumps-executive-order-immigration
---
Tomorrow, President Trump is expected to sign an executive order enacting a 30-day suspension of all visas for nationals from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Foreigners from those seven nations have killed zero Americans in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil between 1975 and the end of 2015. Six Iranians, six Sudanese, two Somalis, two Iraqis, and one Yemini have been convicted of attempting or carrying out terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. Zero Libyans or Syrians have been convicted of planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil during that time period.
In addition to the visa restrictions above, Trump’s executive order further cuts the refugee program to 50,000 annually, indefinitely blocks all refugees from Syria, and suspends all refugee admissions for 120 days. This is a response to a phantom menace. From 1975 to the end of 2015, 20 refugees have been convicted of attempting or committing terrorism on U.S. soil, and only three Americans have been killed in attacks committed by refugees—all in the 1970s. Zero Americans have been killed by Syrian refugees in a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. The annual chance of an American dying in a terrorist attack committed by a refugee is one in 3.6 billion. The other 17 convictions have mainly been for aiding or attempting to join foreign terrorists.

Myself, mostly I don't have a problem with reversible experiments, as long as they're done in an orderly way, while this EO looks quite disorderly. It looks more like a "you're not welcome" sign, not caring because these sorts of people are not important anyway.
If there was a terrorist attack last week, perhaps quick actions are necessary, but this could have been done with more public discussion and warning so people affected have time to make other arrangements to their travel plans and such.
Trump clearly will be known as the "President of chaos", as he said in "Art of the Deal":
"I never get too attached to one deal or one approach," Trump writes. "For starters, I keep a lot of balls in the air, because most deals fall out, no matter how promising they seem at first. In addition, once I've made a deal, I always come up with at least a half dozen approaches to making it work, because anything can happen, even to the best-laid plans."
At least this explains why Trump fails so much - he's an entire "survival of the fittest" ecosystem in himself, and now the whole world is his proving grounds, try something, and try something else before the last thing fails completely. It looks like forward motion, and if you're willing to let everyone else pay the costs, it doesn't matter what the costs add up to be.
Anonymous said... I just spent hours searching the federal register & the white-house site and I-Net searching like crazy and I can't find a single federal site w/ a reference to an exec order titled "PROTECTING THE NATION FROM FOREIGN TERRORIST ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES"...

It's fun to see journalists and commenters on this blog just so recently being acquainted with the scope of executive power, federal intrusion and challenges to the sacred freedom of the press. Nice to see your belated concern.
ReplyDeleteWhat changed your mind? Oh, that's right, Vladimir Putin telling every American who to vote for, while the lily-white media went all-in to stop Vlad's chosen candidate. Yes, sinister Russian hackery woke up liberal everywhere to the threat of foreign interference. So now I guess it's millionaires, billionaires and oligarchs, eh? Like George Soros. But wait, you like HIM, right?
And while you were doing nothing about these conceptual concerns about presidential power the past 8 years, another president created a whole mess of new things, including a requirement that Americans buy a product, create special bathrooms for 0.3% of the population, and require small businesses to provide services for nuptial festivities against their religious beliefs. Why? Because you thought it was a good idea. A right, you say.
And we can appreciate why you FEEL this way, after you supported HRC, the candidate who said religious beliefs are going to have to change their beliefs if they fall outside her own personal belief system. And your personal beliefs mirror hers, so it's okay. That's right, and just because SHE says so. And you're with her.
And now you have a President Trump acting the way he thinks is best for the country, and you don't like it, do you? Funny how that works. So you march with lots of chants, slogans and demands. Well, I suppose you think it beats real work. Empathy, indeed.
If these few examples don't show how silly and phony all this manufactured outrage is, then perhaps YOU are the ones that we've been waiting for... to get a grip on reality!
So, instead of sending drones armed with hellfire missiles to vaporize enemy targets in these countries, perhaps President Trump thinks that this may be a moment that represents a grand opportunity to take stock of where we are and create some sanity about who we allow into our country. These people haven't been banned, they've been delayed... just like all the Americans who were trying to get somewhere this weekend, but couldn't because of the Occupy Airports farce. Get some perspective! This is wait-and-see, not exclusion. Calm down... if that's even possible amidst the emotive orgy of marches and protests and sit-ins. If you really feel this strongly about these issues, get some skin in the game and start hunger striking. At least that would demonstrate some sacrifice beyond a fun afternoon with your sisterhood or just cashing a rent-a-mob check from your benefactor George Soros (hint: a penis-bedangled member of the patriarchy).
And as for the wall on the southern border, it corrects decades of the Feds turning a blind eye to the TOTAL LAWLESSNESS of who may enter. Unless you think it's okay to require someone from Yemen to get a proper visa for entry, but someone who just happened to be born in Latin America just gets to traipse across without any process at all. Yeah, that makes sense. That's social justice. And you're a social justice warrior princess!
Go seek counsel from your vagina -- humanity's exclusive source of wisdom and entitlement. After all, no one has the right to tell you what to do. You're a special snowflake who thinks that it's really deep and thoughtful when NFL players wear pink for a month.
Yes, go get outraged some more. You've got it better than any woman in the world, but you're still pissed off. Congratulations.
And while we're on the "outrageous" thread...
ReplyDeleteSenator Schumer showed deep emotion behind his omnipresent half-spectacles when called President Trump's recent executive orders "mean-spirited and in-American."
Yet we all know that Senator Schumer's inaugural remarks dividing Americans up into a panoply of minority interests was good-spirited and fully American. Really great form, Chuck... E Pluribus Union all the way.
And we'll soon see the Senate minority leader's expression of magnanimity -- a full display of a charitable spirit and full Americanness -- when President Trump unveils his nominee for Suprpeme Court.
And because of Senator Harry Reid's similarly magnanimous and charitable guidance in the Senate, Mitch McConnell is going to go "nuclear" and rid us of the filibuster for a simple majority vote on the SCOTUS pick. And there will be great wailing, gnashing of teeth and TV-ready crocodile tears welling up in the bespectacled eyes of Senator Schumer. Yes, this same Senator Schumer who thought Senator Reid's recent decision on the Senate's traditional minority rights were just dandy.
Yeah, that makes sense. And it makes sense because Senator Schumer was certain on November 7 that he would soon be Senate Majority Leader, shepherding President Hillary's liberal SCOTUS nominees through to Justicehood. Funny how that calculation didn't come to pass.
So, in Senator Schumer will we soon see a man who understands how our Constitution functions, or just a sore loser?
IAC,
ReplyDeleteWell stated. I wonder if Shummer is trying to win a SAG award? There is nothing Schummer can do because he was OK with Reid's actions. The same is true of Feinstein's tantrum. The only hope they have is the establishment Republican. This will be a great test of who the republican party actually represents, the forgotten American or the Washington insiders?
This is one of the best take downs I have seen on your above topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GFKpU6a8rM
NOTE: If you change the group involved it make the same points with the same distain. As an aside, I used to take feminism's justification for abortion and change the word "fetus" to black, male, jew, et al. The word "Feminazi" does not do justice to the results and the true horror it engenders. Try it and you will understand the actions of most Leftist groups. Same ideas, different group that needs to be demonized and destroyed depending upon the need.
Another interesting explanation of why the Left will ultimately lose:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GFKpU6a8rM
"The Rebel Media" is an example of how other voices are challenging the failures of leftism and its underlying hatred.
And in other news, today's Google doodle punctuates all this insanity by comparing Trump's action to a Japanese internment during World War II.
ReplyDeleteIgnatius Acton Chesterton OCD said.. And in other news, today's Google doodle punctuates all this insanity by comparing Trump's action to a Japanese internment during World War II.
ReplyDeleteIAC, that does sound crazy, but things like internment camps surely could happen when Trump decides to invade a Muslim country, although it'll seem justified if after we have another Pearl Harbor or 9/11 level attack.
Obviously GWB's attempt to not implicate Islam with 9/11 didn't work. This time we're going to take things seriously.
It is all scary, and I'm not a 9/11 conspiracy person at all, but surely there are crazy enough peope in this world, ready to fake terrorist attacks to promote a war. And at least enough real "radical muslim terrorists" interested in the same thing, trying to unite all of Islam against the west for their insane religous causes.
So whatever happens under President Trump, I hope we can avoid unnecessary over reactions, and we're at a bad start, with a 90 day ban with no evidence of imminent threat.
Cities are supposed to be sanctuaries for the innocent residents, not rabid criminal aliens.
