Rape Culture in Sweden

Rape culture, anyone. Today, in Sweden they have decided to shut down future summer music festivals. And, no, I am not talking about Mostly Mozart.

Summer rock festivals, the kinds that attract young people, are being cancelled because the organizers have failed to prevent sexual assault and rape.

Following multiple reports of rape and sexual assault for the second consecutive year, one of Sweden’s largest music festivals has announced that it’s pulling the plug on next year’s event.

Swedish authorities said one case of rape and 11 cases of sexual assault had been reported at this year’s Bravalla Festival, held from last Wednesday through Saturday in the town of Norrköping, according to the Associated Press.

And also:

This is the second year in a row that Bravalla Festival has been plagued by multiple reports of sexual violence. At last year’s event, Swedish police said at least five cases of rape and 12 sexual assault incidents had been reported. That same weekend, more than 30 cases of sexual assault were reported at another Swedish festival, Putte i Parken in Karlstad.

The spate of sexual violence alarmed musicians, music lovers and others worldwide. The British band Mumford and Sons, which had been one of the headliners at Bravalla 2016, said on Facebook last year they would be boycotting the festival until “we’ve had assurances from the police and organizers that they’re doing something to combat what appears to be a disgustingly high rate of reported sexual violence.”

Naturally, since this is the Huntington Post, the news is being distorted. Did you notice that the story does not say anything about who the perpetrators are? This tells us that they are not frat boys from UVA, but are Muslim refugees admitted to Sweden and places like Germany by their weak-kneed idealistic leadership. And, by the way, in Sweden at least, the leaders are also feminists. Shouldn’t they have thought about what would happen to Swedish women if they allowed an influx of predatory young males? Apparently, not.

Heck, it was just ten days ago that we read a report from the Swedish national police, to the effect that No-Go zones were springing up around that once proud nation:

We see developments in our country which are not always going in the right direction… We have more than 60 vulnerable areas in and around major cities in Sweden.. and we see criminality there and we need to turn around these developments in those areas… and we need the assistance of other parts of our society.

And, here’s the video:

  1. I'm always pleased when people get what they vote for, whether it's the Swedes, Chicagoans, or Venezuelans. And we know that deBlasio is no fascist, because the trains definitely aren't running on time.

  2. I'm not sure I trust YouTube repostings from accounts with names like "The Truth Latest News". Here's the Russia Today original, dated June 22, 2017. Strangely the repost repeats the same short story twice.

The term "No-go zone" itself sounds like propaganda, designed to promote hysteria, even if "vulnerable areas" is also reverse propaganda.

  3. My favorite propaganda term is "troubled youth". Next up would be "undetermined motive".

  4. When the government prevents the press from reporting the truth of what's going on, then the citizenry distrusts its government. I expect that some day, the Viking spirit will burst the chains that hold it in.
