The war is over. The Palestinian Authority has lost. The United States has declared Jerusalem to be the capital of
Israel. The crown princes of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates told Mahmoud Abbas to cut out the nonsense and to negotiate a peace treaty with
Israel. The government of Egypt told Abbas to accept Ramallah as the new capital of a new Palestinian state.
And yet, Abbas persists. True enough, he and his cohorts
have sacrificed the lives of three generations of children to their
anti-Semitic rage. It is not going to be easy to accept that level of political
failure. The truth remains: to resolve the conflict, Abbas and the Palestinians
will have to give up and to give in. The more intransigent he is the worse it
will be for his people.
But, Abbas also knows that the European Union, led by
dimwitted foreign affairs chief, Federica Mogherini has his back. Now, he also
knows that John Kerry—you remember him—also supports the Palestinian cause.
Those who continue to believe that the Obama administration was pro-Israeli
should take serious note about Kerry’s willingness to undermine Israel and
American foreign policy.
The Jerusalem Post reported:
… former
US secretary of state John Kerry met in London with a close associate of PA
President Mahmoud Abbas, Hussein Agha, for a long and open conversation about a
variety of topics. Agha apparently reported details of the conversation to
senior PA officials in Ramallah. A senior PA official confirmed to Maariv that
the meeting took place.
During
the conversation, according to the report, Kerry asked Agha to convey a message
to Abbas and ask him to “hold on and be strong.” Tell him, he told Agha, “that
he should stay strong in his spirit and play for time, that he will not break
and will not yield to President [Donald] Trump’s demands.”
According to Kerry, Trump will not remain in office for a long time. It was reported that Kerry said that within a year there was a good chance that Trump would not be in the White House.
Some people believe that there is a cabal working in
Washington to undermine the Trump administration. Kerry seems to believe that such is the case. What does he know that we don't?
As for Kerry’s interference in American foreign policy,
it is specifically forbidden under the Logan Act. That legislation dates to
1799 and says that a private citizen may not negotiate with foreign governments
that are having disputes with America. Perhaps we should prosecute John Kerry
for violating the Logan Act. He is also allowing Palestinian terrorists to believe that they should not negotiate
peace but that they will receive an ultimate reward for continuing to kill
Jews.
This is the only way al-Qerry can remain over the horizon. I doubt he cares about palistiniansers any more than anyone else, which is to say not much. But when you're looking for a cause and it has to be anti-American because that's the only open niche, beggars can't be choosers.
ReplyDeleteJack,
ReplyDeleteKerry does have theme music for his public appearnces:
https://youtu.be/H867PyLT5TU
James, excellent choice. The music should be diegetic -- every time he steps off a plane, walks through a crowd, enters a restaurant, goes up on stage, that music should be played by street performers, small ensembles, elevators, high school marching bands, radios.
ReplyDeleteI chose the Beatles' I'm a loser as the leitmotif for al-Qerry appearances (mine is the Imperial march,), but in the jazz lounge/elevator style of Vince Guaraldi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbzcivVQEGw
Jack,
ReplyDeleteYes, the Guaraldi is wonderful. It brings to mind Kerry when he's heroically wind surfing!
It is not because he is unfamiliar with betraying America or its soldiers. He is well practiced at it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought of Guaraldi for yearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs. THANKS, Jack!
ReplyDeleteJack,
ReplyDeleteA little O/T but this is some of the music a like:
https://youtu.be/pqKjHUXAFuU
I think that's Keltner playing drums.
James, you've got me going down a rabbit hole of Ry Cooder vids. Harry Dean Stanton is on that album, so in that vein, check out Hugh Laurie, Wild Honey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYnJrluzbQY
ReplyDeleteI'm a jazz drummer, favorites are Max Roach and Joe Morello.
Think of all the cultural appropriation going on.
John Fraud Kerry needs to go away and go snuggle with his sugar momma.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what an intensely boring man.
I liked the Wild Honey deal (especially the backup singers in their hats). I don't know about culture, but the music's pretty good.
ReplyDeleteIAC,
I was flippant about Kerry before, but I cannot stand that thing. It's just something that goes back a long ways and hasn't changed one bit. Roget doesn't have enough words to convey what I think about that thing.
It's good to know negative gossip exists on both sides. "It was reported..." is almost as meaningful as saying "Some people believe..." in the realm of factual reality.
ReplyDeleteIAC??!! Boring? BORING?
ReplyDeleteThis man is not boring! He's delightful!

ReplyDeleteKerry, like Al Gore, only spent a few months In Country.
A Navy PAO Chief, lots of experience with Poo Bahs, told me Kerry was was the most arrogant bastard he ever escorted.
