A leader of its Green Party and the Deputy Prime Minister, Isabella Lovin calls Sweden the “world’s first feminist government.” She imagines that Sweden is the best hope for world democracy… though one suspects that she
means, socialist governments. After all, Bernie Sanders and his supporters want
America to be more like Sweden… because the Swedes are soft on crime, happy to
tolerate rape and have universal health care.
With crime rates rising and with Sweden fostering rape culture, Paula Neuding reports that feminist leaders believe that the best
approach is to ignore the problem, to pretend that it is not happening. They
also propose that the police stop noting the ethnicity of criminals. Surely, that will show the world that certain ethnic groups are not responsible for the largest number of crimes.
She writes:
After
the latest explosions and shootings, Isabella Lövin, Deputy Prime Minister and
leader of the Green party, turned her ire towards those who express alarm over
violent crime in Sweden. How can anyone talk about chaos in Sweden, she asked.
‘The truth is that we are a country that gives the rest of the democratic world
hope.’ She takes pride in running the ‘world’s first feminist government’ but
she has made it a political priority to play down growing numbers of violent
crime, rapes included. It’s a form of denial usually associated with
non-democratic states or nations in decline.
Denial… in a socialist paradise,
in a feminist government… who would have believed such a thing. Neuding paints
a vivid picture of everyday life in crime ridden Sweden:
January was a particularly violent month in
Sweden. A 63-year-old man was killed in Stockholm by a hand grenade lying in
the street. A Dutch exchange student was hit by a stray bullet during an
execution-style killing at a pizza restaurant in Uppsala. In Gothenburg, a hand
grenade was thrown into a flat and exploded in the kitchen — the same
predominantly immigrant-populated suburb where an eight-year-old British boy
was killed in a grenade attack less than two years ago. In Malmö, a grenade was
tossed at a police station and exploded outside. So it has not, so far, been a
very happy new year.
For Swedes, this has become a familiar theme.
Gun violence is on the rise, with daylight shootings and without regard for
bystanders. In the past nine years, reported and attempted murders involving
guns have almost doubled. According to Swedish police, hand-grenade attacks
(which were virtually unknown until a few years ago) are without parallel in
countries not at war.
Gangs function with impunity in what the police refuse to
call No-Go areas. But, the police refuse to address the crime problem at
all:
Yet
it’s still hard for Swedish authorities to be frank about what’s going on. It’s
widely known that gang members are mainly first- and second-generation
immigrants, and problems are rampant in what police euphemistically refer to as
‘vulnerable areas’. Thus the gang wars serve as a constant reminder of Sweden’s
failed migration and integration policies. This is a problem for the government
(and even the opposition) in a country that prides itself on being a
‘humanitarian superpower’. And yet politicians, in government and opposition,
seem particularly concerned that violence in immigrant suburbs is a PR problem,
a threat to the image of Sweden, and that the remedy is spin.
Other government services cannot be offered in the No-Go
zones, because firefighters, ambulance drivers and postmen cannot go there:
Firefighters
face the same reality. In November, some 50 cars were torched in a garage in a
mainly immigrant suburb in Uppsala. Despite citizens repeatedly calling the
emergency services, it took three hours before the fire department showed up —
protected by police equipped with riot gear and machine-guns.
Paramedics
and firefighters are not the only ones who have to take precautions before
entering ‘vulnerable areas’. The Stockholm suburb of Tensta had free parking for
months, after the area was deemed too dangerous for traffic wardens to enter.
The Swedish Postal Service has for periods of time not been delivering packages
to a crime-ridden neighbourhood in central Malmö. A number of public libraries
have had to reduce their opening hours or even close temporarily in response to
harassment by gangs of youths.
Now, the crime wave is metastasizing and moving to wealthy
suburbs:
In the
past weeks, children in the well-off Stockholm suburb of Nacka have been
victims of robberies by masked gangs who are suspected of travelling from other
parts of the city. Children as young as nine have been robbed at knifepoint.
The outrage that followed the robberies in Nacka also serves as a reminder of
how deeply divided Swedish society has become among lines of class and
ethnicity.
Such is life under the world’s first feminist government.
I suppose Minnesota stands closer to Sweden than most of the U.S, although I don't think we yet have a majority women government. Thanks to #MeToo we have 2 women U.S. Senators. And there's calls for a state run universal healthcare, like Canada. And a strong DFL candidate for Governor is promoting this:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.rebeccaotto.com/healthymn Rebecca Otto's unique plan for universal, single payer, publicly financed, privately delivered, high quality health care.
And we also have a large Somali population in the Twin Cities, and the DFL party had some exciting endorsement processes, and just elected a first Somali woman to the House:

I've not heard of any crime increases in Minneapolis, with or without immigrants, although a somali police officer did shoot and kill a white woman when she banged too vigorously on the car window.

But the real problem I know of for Urban schools is extremely poor test scores and graduation rates, and the middle class families abandons their neighborhood schools, leaving the most challenging students behind in a race to the bottom. And its easy to see despair will come, gangs will come, if youth are not properly educated.
And we did have some youth here get intro trouble on a fantasy to joining ISIS. So these are real issues, and the future won't get better if we ignore the challenges we know we have. I suppose the argument which works for me is to see Conservatives and Muslim radicals both agree that cultures can't be mixed, and so the rest of us get to test that, ideally eyes wide open of course. (And I agree - hiding statistics is as bad as cherry-picking or exaggerating them.)
Goes along well with this as well: https://pjmedia.com/trending/feminist-business-school-teaches-students-shun-profit-seeking/

ReplyDeleteAnd if you've been following the ongoing story about PC indoctrination in the Edina schools, you know that the state is still in denial. I went to the University of Minnesota and lived there for eight years altogether, but I would never go back now.
I wonder how much longer Swedish men will put up with this shit before they take matters into their own hands and eliminate the twin problems of Muslims and feminists.
Paraphrasing Barack "Lightworker" Obama, I'm sure the Swedes can absorb more crime.
ReplyDeleteAO: "I suppose Minnesota stands closer to Sweden than most of the U.S..."
By the Polar route, maybe.
:-D
Or is it because the Swedes have a disgraced former Senator reminiscent of a randy Michigan J Frog?
@Sam
ReplyDeleteSadly, "if (rather than when)" is probably a correct observation.

Where do you come up with such silly drivel?
In terms of distance, Minnesota is much farther away from Sweden than the other states in the U.S.
If it's cultural, then why don't the Minnesotans secede and become part of Sweden?
Minnesota is almost exactly half the size of Sweden... a match made in heaven.
What's happening in Sweden is the predictable consequence of feminism, and the reason is that feminism springs from Leftist ideology that is predictably incapable of making value judgments of the "disenfranchised" minority... in this case, the Muslim. They can only make value judgments of their own culture, soaked and stained with a virulent self-loathing.
Victimology is the propellant of all Leftist ideology, not fairness, equality or equal protection under the law. Majority suffering at the hands of victim groups is collateral damage.
I say let the feminist government officials send their children to attend schools and engage in extracurricular activities with the Muslim horde. That's equality for ya!
@Ignatius
ReplyDeleteUm, it might be quite as strong now, but Minnesota has always had a strong Scandinavian-American presence (the "Lefsa Belt"). When I lived there in the 70s I knew lots of Andersons, Carlsons, Petersons, Lundstroms, et al. Today in Minneapolis Mohammed has replace Lars, and that's the source of its problems.
Sestamibi, you're correct on the strong Scandinavian-American presence. We also have a relatively low relocation rate - people born here tend to stay.
ReplyDeleteIAC, Minnesota is also closer to the values of Canada than the rest of the USA. So if we get an invitation to join the common wealth, I'll be glad to consider that.
We just had our precinct caucuses last week, and it was entertaining that the republicans were concerned about being infiltrated by Muslims, as if it would be inconceivable that any Muslim Americans would be disinterested in the free market, deregulation ideals of conservatives. It's almost like saying the Republicans should be worried about Catholic citizens because they have may have religious motives as well as economic ones. Of course it is true, you have to show up to influence a party platform, and that's a huge problem with 99% not showing up. Politics is done by those who take time to participate.
