Remember Pajama Boy? Remember when the Obama administration, in an absurd effort to redefine what it means to be a man, offered the image of a pathetic looking cocoa-sipper in red and black checked pajamas. Apparently, it was an effort to sell health insurance. Right?
Now we have Mija. The vaunted CIA has just announced its priorities. You will notice that intelligence is not on the list. Wokeness is not just on the list; it is the list.
The CIA no longer cares about collecting intelligence or analyzing data. It is no longer interested in hiring the best that our so-called institutions of higher learning have to offer. It has gone all-in for wokeness and identity politics.
Being what you are supersedes any noticeable ability to do the job, or even to collaborate with your fellow CIA employees. If you are woke you represent every possible oppressed group. You are an amalgam, a moment where all oppressed groups intersect. You are who you are and if anyone dares ask about your ability to do the job, they will be instantly canceled.
You would think that this is parody. You would think that it comes from the Babylon Bee or the Onion. It does not. It comes from the Biden CIA. If you voted for Biden you now know what you voted for.
Now the CIA is announcing to the world that it is no longer a serious organization, and, incidentally, that America is no longer a serious country. Our enemies around the world are getting a good laugh out of this.
The agent is named Mija. If you look the word up, you will discover that it is not a proper name. It is a pronoun. It comes from Columbian slang, where it means something like “You.” It is an affectionate term that immediately genders an individual. Funnily enough, Mija has a name that represents a politically incorrect pronoun, in a foreign language. What have we done to patriotism?
The Daily Mail quotes the recruitment video:
Agent Mija tells viewers: 'I am intersectional, but my existence is not a box-checking exercise. I am a walking declaration, a woman whose inflection does not rise at the end of her sentences, suggesting that a question has been asked.'
Not a word about whether she is an American citizen. Who knows what it means to say you are not a box checking exercise when you are checking all of the boxes of the oppressed. And, what does it mean to be a walking declaration-- is it like being a walking shadow. Recall these words, by Shakespeare, who was not woke:
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
Mija's story continues. We note that this recruitment video does not talk about the job or about qualifications:
The clip does not detail the qualifications needed to work at the CIA or what the role entails.
Mija adds: 'I am a woman of color. I am a mom. I am a cisgender Millennial who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.'
What the CIA needs now is someone who has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. You will note that Mija is not a wife. That would be politically incorrect. And besides, why would you think that any self-respecting male would marry a woman who describes herself that way.
But, Mija has more important skills, skills that have nothing to do with working in the CIA.
She says: 'I can change a diaper in one hand and console a crying toddler with the other.
Nothing about the ad tells us what Mija does for the CIA. She says that she worked her way up the company ranks, but did she do so by changing diapers. Huh?
'I earned my way in and I earned my way up the ranks.
'I am tired of feeling like I am supposed to apologize for the space I occupy.'
So, she occupies space. So does furniture. And we are supposed to consider that an achievement. I would like to think that our millennials are not quite this illiterate, but, alas, it looks like I am wrong.
Matt Taibbi suggests that the CIA is doing this because it is now recruiting millennials and that they are all very woke. Thus, it is preaching to the choir:
Matt Taibbi added: 'The really telling thing about this video os that it speaks to the CIA's assessment of who would be interested in working for them. Clearly, they think they have appeal to woke millenials - and they're probably right.'
The other reason for this recruitment ad is to show those who work at the CIA that a new sheriff is in charge. It also tells them that any deviation from woke ideology will impact negatively on their prospects for career advancement.
And you were worrying about QAnon.
"Signifying nothing"? Idiocy is not "nothing".
ReplyDelete"Matt Taibbi suggests that the CIA is doing this because it is now recruiting millennials and that they are all very woke. Thus, it is preaching to the choir:"
And what it does is tell EVERYBODY that America is NOT a serious country, and RIPE for letting bad people in and rolling over for them to knife us in the belly.
"And you were worrying about QAnon." I'm not worried about QAnon, because I have no idea of what it is, other than a bugbear of/to the Lefties. I'd LIKE to know what it is...
Diversity (i.e. color judgment), inequity, and exclusion. Woke and [morally] broke. One step forward, two steps backward. #BabyLivesMatter
ReplyDeleteAnybody remember Felix Leiter, James Bond American pal? I do. His wiki says he played a part in six of the Ian Fleming novels. Described as originally from Texas, he is introduced in Casino Royale as being thin, tall, about thirty-five years old and a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps who was working with the Joint Intelligence Staff of NATO. Later in the series, he falls into a shark tank, but survives, albeit suffering the loss of an arm and leg. So, I guess he couldn't be expected to, "change a diaper in (sic.) one hand and console a crying toddler with the other." Thus, from an extremities viewpoint, I guess we could say the Mija is a definite improvement! Hurray for America! Land of the "woman of color" and home of the "cisgender Millennial who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder"
