Truly and totally amazing. What else can we say about the madness that has infected the judicial system in a purportedly civilized country like Ireland.
This week, a high school teacher in Westmeath, Ireland was jailed for contempt of court. His offense-- refusing to accept the court order that banned him from Wilson’s Hospital School. What had he done to merit the banishment? Why, he refused to use a transgendered student’s preferred pronouns.
Seriously, via the New York Post:
A teacher in Ireland has been suspended from work and then jailed for contempt of court after he refused to use the correct pronouns to address a transgender student.
I would point out that the reporter seems to have bought the transgender movement’s subterfuge. She implies, as does the court, that a student’s choice of “correct pronouns” is the only one that is admissible.
If a teacher fails to use them, the teacher can be summarily fired. Thus, mutilating children is fine. Refusing to go along with the mutilation is a serious crime, one that can see you lose your job and even be incarcerated:
Enoch Burke was arrested on Monday for violating a court order barring him from teaching at Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath, or even being present there, the news site RTE.ie reported.
Judge Michael Quinn found Burke guilty of violating an order made by the High Court last week and sent him to Mountjoy Prison, where he will remain until he either purges his contempt, or until further order from the court.
Burke declared that he had been fired because he refused to call a boy a girl:
“I love my school, with its motto Res Non Verba, actions not words, but I am here today because I said I would not call a boy a girl,” Burke told the court.
The scandal surrounding Burke began unfolding after the educator, who teaches history, politics and German at the school in Multyfarnham, County Westmeath, refused to address a transitioning student as “they” instead of “he.”
Burke’s stance prompted school officials to place him on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a disciplinary process.
But the teacher refused to stay away from campus, despite an injunction that was issued barring him from going to the school, or attempting to teach.
On Friday, the judge issued an order to arrest Burke after he was found sitting in an empty classroom at the school.
Fair enough, Burke wanted to make a point. He wanted to stand up for sanity. He declared that the court order violated his religious beliefs, his Christian beliefs.
At a time when the madness called the transgender movement is increasingly being called into question, there still exist, even in a place like Ireland, schools and courts are willing to force everyone to accept a transgender child for being what he or she says he or she is.
One understands that the madness will eventually come to an end. One understands that the counselors who are promoting transgenderism and the physicians who are treating it will either be sued or jailed.
For now, one Enoch Burke will stand with those who refuse to accept, as the old story has it, that the emperor’s new clothes are an illusion. In a sane society a boy who cries out that the emperor is naked will be respected for telling the truth. In a mad society he will be incarcerated like a common criminal.
He violated a court order to stay away from the school. That led to his arrest. The he/they b s is all on the school.
