Obama's Jewish Problem

It's a little late in coming, but Barack Obama has a Jewish problem. Specifically, he has a problem with Jewish voters. The problem is his policy toward Israel.

Next Tuesday New York’s Ninth Congressional District will hold a special election to fill the seat vacated by Anthony Weiner. The district is heavily Jewish and reliably Democratic. 63% of the electorate is registered Democratic. 20% is Republican and 17% is Independent.

Despite it all, the Republican candidate Bob Turner is running even with Democrat David Weprin. In one poll Turner is leading by 4%.

Democrat Weprin is running scared. So scared that he will not guarantee to support Obama in 2012. And so scared that he is as critical of Obama’s Israel policy as his Republican opponent.

Writing in the Jerusalem Post today, Caroline Glick presents the case that Obama has been decidedly unfriendly to Israel. She also allows herself to be cautiously optimistic that more and more American Jews are catching on to Obama, especially in relation to Israel.

  1. Stuart, I'm having a hard time believing that any US President can be so anti-Israel... but the proof is out there for anyone who really wants to look.

  2. When I was in college I used to like to engage feminists. One of their mantras was about how much lasting affect they had on children and how responsible they were for the future of children. My question if that is so then feminists are responsible for the way men act. Men are with their mothers, then follow on in schools dominated by women for at least 12 years. Now feminists expect me to believe that all of a sudden men forget all they learned from women and become oppressors of the very people who had such a profound effect?
One could ask the same question of Obama. He knowingly spends 20 years in a church that preaches hatred for Jews and Americans and we are to expect something different. This is not to include the indoctrination by his mother and most of his father images.
I am beginning to wonder if their are not a significant number of people who like being victims no matter the ramifications. They will provide any justification to keep people in power who do not have their best interests at heart and and in many cases despise them. Is that what is meant by keeping your enemy closer??????

  3. It's truly amazing that the press has given Obama a pass on his association with Jeremiah Wright.

As you note, sitting in a church for twenty years and listening to anti-semitic and anti-american diatribes must do something to your mind. Worse yet, how could he have sat there and absorbed it without being offended or horrified. He made Wright his spiritual mentor... they must have shared some of the same ideas and values.
