I liked the idea of differentiate between a soldier and a warrior. A soldier has a gun, a warrior has a brain. A soldier looks for enemies to fight and control, a warrior knows the real enemy who can destroy us is within looks for allies to avoid that destruction.
And then there are Native American stories like this one. It might be too cutesy, and still contains Trump's "Winning" theme. Obviously some fights are not about winning, but more about finding a high ground that doesn't dehumanize your enemies.

One cannot understand peace until one understands violence. One cannot understand violence until one understands peace. It is as simple as that and the reason why most martial arts contain both. One only needs to look at those who speak peace and almost invariably resort to violence because they have never understood peace or violence. One sees it in action every day.
The 60s generation was taught all about "make love not war," but justified violence to reach its goals. What is taught or stressed is NOT what happens. Today's protester talks peace and love, but resorts to violence in order to keep from developing a dialogue with those they oppose. God forbid they would actually find common ground. Free speech is the precursor of peace. Without it there can never be peace. The Founders recognized the importance of free speech. Better to fight in the marketplace of ideas than on the battlefield. Too bad so many academics have not learned what peace and violence mean in reality.
