Homophobia Unbound

As you know, former Obama administration officials are telling Iran to hang in there. They are telling Iran not to cooperate with the Trump administration because soon the Trump administration will be history. Once that happens the Iran nuclear deal will return and the mullahs will have an open path to developing nuclear weapons… something that they never really stopped anyway.

American citizens undermining American foreign policy by giving sustenance to a terrorist regime, an anti-Semitic and homophobic regime to boot. It get you to thinking.

In Europe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is leading the Obamist charge. She is trying to rescue the Iranian regime from United States sanctions. As often noted here, the spectacle of the Chancellor of West Germany collaborating with the world’s leading sponsor of anti-Semitic (and other) terrorism ought to have been denounced by anyone with any moral sense. Instead, Merkel was cheered at the Harvard commencement last month.

And yet, in America, the political left sees Donald Trump as the Devil, and thus, they feel obliged to denounce any country that Trump is fighting against. Thus, the left sides with Iran against Israel, against President el Sissi in Egypt  and certainly against Saudi Arabia.

And, when anti-Trump countries engage in depraved practices, the Western media and Western leftist politicians have nothing to say. They are outraged beyond outrage at the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, but have nothing to say about female genital mutilation in Egypt of the summary execution of gays in Iran.

Since the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has long since helped finance female genital mutilation, the first foreign leader to travel to Cairo to celebrate the election of a Muslim Brotherhood president in Egypt was… you guessed it, Hillary Clinton.

As for executing gays in Iran, the Obamphile left has nothing to say. The Trump administration is now leading the charge against Iranian homophobic brutality, but is receiving no support from those who think that the mullahs are fine people… because they hate Trump. The enemy of my enemy ....

Just this week the German foreign minister traveled to Iran, as a gesture of moral support. During a press conference a reporter for a German newspaper asked Iranian foreign minister Javan Zarif two questions. As you know, Zarif is a close personal friend of John Kerry.

Paul Ronzheimer, a reporter for the Bild, wrote on Twitter, that he asked Zarif two questions: "1. How do you stand to Israel's right to exist? 2. How do you deal with the executions of gays?"

Ronzheimer wrote that Zarif answered: "The problem is the aggressive policies of Israel and the USA."

Regarding Iran's execution of gays, Zarif said that "Our society has moral principles and according to these principles we live. These are moral principles regarding the behavior of people in general. And that's because the law is upheld and you abide by laws. "

Israel and America are the problems in the Middle East. Where have we heard that before. Zarif could find a happy home in the Congressional Democratic Caucus today.

So, Zarif supports executing gays. It is Iranian law, one that his been enforced thousands of times over the past forty years. You will note that the intelligentsia is up in arms at what happened in Tiananmen Square thirty years ago, but has nothing to say about the plight of gays in Iran.

The Post continues:

According to a 2008 British WikiLeaks dispatch, Iran’s mullah regime executed “between 4,000 and 6,000 gays and lesbians” since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
In 2016, The Jerusalem Post reported Iran’s regime had executed a gay adolescent that year – the first confirmed execution of someone convicted as a juvenile in the Islamic Republic.

Hassan Afshar, 19, was hanged in Arak Prison in Iran’s Markazi Province on July 18, 2016, after he was convicted of “forced male-to-male anal intercourse” in early 2015.

As noted, Richard Grenell, the American ambassador to Germany, is leading the charge against the barbarous regime:

US ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell – who is the administration’s most high-profile openly gay official – told the Post in February that “71 countries criminalize homosexuality and eight will put you to death for being gay. The Trump administration is launching a new push with our European allies to end this human rights outrage.”

Grenell is spearheading the international effort to stop the persecution of the LGBT community in countries that impose criminal penalties – including the death penalty – on homosexuals.

And also:

Grenell credited the Post in a commentary that he wrote for Europe’s largest paper, Germany’s Bild, on February 1: “The recent press reports, first carried by The Jerusalem Post, that the Iranian regime publicly hanged a 31-year-old man for being gay, should be a wake up call for anyone who supports basic human rights. Politicians, the UN, democratic governments, diplomats and good people everywhere should speak up – and loudly.”

“In Iran, where children as young as nine can be sentenced to death, gay teenagers are publicly hanged in order to terrify and intimidate others from coming out. Iran’s horrific actions are on par with the brutality and savagery regularly demonstrated by ISIS,” he added.

Call it hypocritical, if you like. But the people who are the staunchest defenders of gay rights in America have nothing to say about Iran… where homosexuality is a capital offense.

  1. Hypocritical is seriously understated. I'd say "super-mega hypocritical" can only begin to be more accurate.

  2. Supporting Iran — in any form — is the greatest expression of knownothingness imaginable.

What a disgrace. True derangement syndrome.

Still waiting for someone to explain how the Iran Deal” serves the U.S. national interest. Anyone?

And by the way, the reCAPTCHA quizzery is getting ridiculous...

  3. I used to attend the bullfights in Tijuana, Mexico. It is a blood sport, plain and simple. It's the closest thing to ancient Rome you will experience in the modern world.

But I never noticed any animal rights protesters at either location (one ring was right by the beach and one downtown).

San Diego was a few miles north, but nobody from the US ever came down to protest outside of a arena dedicated to the ritualized slaughter of a bull?

The answer was obvious, animal rights protesters only protest when and where it costs them nothing and requires no risk whatsoever. They are just virtue-signalling cowards who want to feel good with no consequences for their actions. Same goes for gay rights and the environment and just about every other activist preoccupation.

Islam means peace > facts about Islam and homosexuals.
