"Robert Pearson's Reality Blog"

If you ever glance at the comments section of this blog you will know that someone dubbed "Wahrheit" often writes cogent remarks about my posts. Wahrheit, which means truth, is the pen name for a blogger named Robert Pearson.

Over the years Pearson has developed a following by writing a chess blog. Now, he is branching out, and has just launched a new reality blog. The first post is entitled: "There Are No Solutions."

In it he makes a great point: politicians cynically overuse the term: "solutions." As he puts it, chess problems, or other mathematical problems have solutions. To pretend that poverty and other social problems have "solutions" is to mistake reality for a mathematical problem. I agree wholeheartedly with his point, and recommend it to your attention.
