For those who do not have eyes that see, the great revelation this past week was the basic and fundamental dementia of America’s president Joe Biden.

When the president’s neurological condition becomes the story, you know that something is wrong. As though that were not enough, other members of the executive branch have been contradicting the claims Biden made in his televised addresses, and in his attempt to answer press questions. Even the media, the most mindless staunch Biden supporter-- anything was better than Trump!-- has turned on old Joe. 

As for Kamala Harris, she has become Biden’s insurance policy. A more incompetent buffoon one cannot imagine-- and she is compos mentis. 

So, we have learned definitively why Joe Biden has been hiding from the public. It took a massive international embarrassment to bring him out into the public eye. He was shamed into doing it. Unfortunately, his performance proved what many people have been saying and what the majority of the American public now grasps, that the man is in no way capable of leading the nation. 

Pitiful and helpless-- this man symbolizes America today. 

So, as Tucker Carlson remarked last night, when your Defense Secretary and Pentagon flack follow your public pronouncement with a repudiation of your statements, things are getting too obvious to ignore.

Here is some of the evidence, reported by the Daily Mail:

Minutes after President Biden on Friday said the mission to destroy Al Qaeda in Afghanistan was a success and that he knew of no circumstances where Americans had been unable to reach Kabul airport, he was flatly contradicted by the Pentagon. 

Al Qaeda remains present in Afghanistan, said Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby during a briefing, and yes, he was aware of reports of Americans being beaten by the Taliban as they tried to reach safety.

The contradiction will raise further doubt about whether Biden is in control of the White House messaging operation, let alone the chaotic effort to bring Americans home.

Just minutes earlier, Biden had claimed that there were no reports of Americans being given any trouble from the extremist group, and that they were being given safe passage to board US military jets at the airport.

To which Carlson responded that under normal circumstances and with a normal functioning president, staff never, ever makes their boss look bad, or look like he is not in command of his brief.

'The people around Biden are moving away from him, in ways that are not subtle. Why is this happening now? Was it always the plan? Did the party that hates white guys finally realize it was being led by one? Again, we don’t know the answer. But the signs are everywhere, and they’re strikingly obvious.

'Some of Biden’s most senior appointees are contradicting him in public. If you cover politics, it’s shocking to see that. 

'This is a violation of the first and most ruthlessly enforced rule in any White House: Don’t diminish the boss.'

Carlson was referring to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who was reported to have directly contradicted the president during a call with officials Friday, when he said that the Taliban had attacked Americans trying to flee.

Just minutes earlier, Biden had claimed that there were no reports of Americans being given any trouble from the extremist group, and that they were being given safe passage to board US military jets at the airport.

The Daily Mail has collected the relevant information:

1:49pm ET: Joe Biden begins his remarks from the East Room of the White House.

He says that he believes all Americans who want to get into the airport and leave have been able to.

'We have no indication that they haven't been able to get — in Kabul — through the airport. We've made an agreement with the Taliban. Thus far, they've allowed them to go through.'

He also says that al-Qaeda has been wiped out in Afghanistan.

'What interest do we have in Afghanistan at this point with al Qaeda gone? We went to Afghanistan for the express purpose of getting rid of al Qaeda in Afghanistan, as well as — as well as getting Osama bin Laden. And we did.'

 

Around 2:20pm ET: Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley hold a conference call with members of Congress.

Austin, according to reports, directly contradicted Biden's assurance that they had 'no indication' there was any trouble for Americans wanting to get to Kabul airport.

'We're also aware that some people, including Americans, have been harassed and even beaten by the Taliban,' Austin said on the call, according to multiple sources.

'This is unacceptable and [we] made it clear to the designated Taliban leader.'

2:30pm ET: Pentagon press secretary John Kirby briefs the media.

Kirby was asked about Austin contradicting the president.

He said that the U.S. has told the Taliban that it wants 'free passage through these checkpoints for documented Americans.'

'By and large, that's happening,' he added.

Kirby was also asked about al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

'We know that al-Qaeda is a presence, as well as ISIS, in Afghanistan,' he said.

'And we've talked about that for quite some time.

'But we don't have an exact figure for you. It is not like they carry ID cards. And our intelligence gathering ability in Afghanistan isn't what it used to be.'

It was then pointed out to him that Biden said al-Qaeda had been wiped out in Afghanistan.

Kirby replied: 'We don't think - we believe there isn't a significant presence to merit a threat to our homeland, as there was back on 9/11 twenty years ago.'  

So, they are spinning as fast as they can. As for why they have taken a step that is bordering on mutiny, the reason is not very complicated. They know that Biden is fundamentally enfeebled. They know that he is not in charge and cannot articulate policy or keep the fact straight. In one sense they are covering for their commander, but in another they are trying to save their own face. But then, if they need to correct their commander’s representations why, pray tell, are they still working for him? What is wrong with them?

As for the other classical phrase, about a certain breed of rodents that abandon a sinking ship-- we will await developments. For now they are in cover-up mode. We await developments.
