Leading the Idiotocracy

George Will garnered a lot of attention for writing a column that seems perfectly self-evident. Yesterday, in the Washington Post, he opined that our current president and vice president should, at the earliest opportunity, remove themselves from the running for the 2024 election.

Considering that neither can articulate a coherent sentence in English, even with the aid of a teleprompter, we should all agree that their failure to command language disqualifies them from further public office.

After all, one thing the world does not need is an American administration that embarrasses itself at every opportunity. If the president cannot command his speech, one is naturally going to conclude that he cannot command the government. It’s a long way from perpetual gaffes, to say nothing of lies, to leadership. Surely, it does not encourage any other nation to adopt our democratic system.

Our president cannot speak straight cannot think straight. And then people wonder who is in charge, and foreign leaders will either cringe in disbelief at the current state of the world’s greatest superpower, or will take advantage of the situation.

We can choose any one of a number of Biden fabulations, but Will chooses this one:

Meeting recently with some progressive activists, Biden said his $426 billion student loan forgiveness was accomplished by “a law” that he had “just signed”: “I got it passed by a vote or two.” No. He. Did. Not.

Biden was not merely again embellishing his achievements. This is not just another of his verbal fender benders. There is no less-than-dismaying explanation for his complete confusion. What vote? Who voted?

After repeated unilateral extensions of the moratorium on loan repayments until election season, Biden unilaterally implemented the windfall for millions of voters. Congress was not involved in this cataract of money from the Treasury, in violation of the Constitution’s appropriations clause.

And, of course, the corrupt corporate media, led by the New York Times, does not care. It has been concocting its own stories about how Biden gaffes are not flat-out lies, but are--- fill in the most convenient rationalization. Then again, if Biden is suffering from senile dementia, he does not have the brain power to produce so many lies.

Dare we say, this does not inspire confidence. It does not suggest that Joe Biden is in charge of anything. Why, he often fails to know where he is and how to go where he has to go.

Of course, no one is thinking of impeaching Joe Biden. The alternative is the ignorant and pathetic Kamala Harris.

Will regales us with the mindless drivel offered up by our vice president.

Here are some examples, beginning with her thoughts about broadband:

The governor and I and we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children …

Obviously, this will not get you a passing grade in Freshman English comp.

And then, her thoughts on electric school busses:

I have a particular fondness, I must tell you, for electric school buses. I love electric school buses. I really do … I’ve been on these electric school buses … 25 million children in our country, every day, go to school on those diesel-fueled school buses. And hundreds, thousands of school bus drivers are driving those buses. Which are then, these people — these children, these adults — are inhaling what is toxic air.

Of course, this sounds pathetic, worthy of a child’s mind, though, to be fair very few children stoop to this level of incompetence.

Speaking at an international conference, Harris opined:

We will work together, and continue to work together, to address these issues, to tackle these challenges, and to work together as we continue to work operating from the new norms, rules and agreements, that we will convene to work together.” She added: “We will work together.”

Will adds  few more, for taste:

“Space — it affects us all, and it connects us all.” On whether Democrats “failed” by not codifying abortion rights in federal law: “I think that, to be very honest with you, I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled.” On equity: “Equitable treatment means we all end up in the same place.” On the border: “We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration.”

From which Will concludes:

Her style betrays a self-satisfied exaggeration of her aptitudes. Lacking natural talent, she needs to prepare, but evidently doesn’t. Complacency and arrogance make a ruinous compound.

These are the people who are in charge of our great government. It does not inspire confidence. It inspires chagrin. Rest assured that world leaders are watching the situation unfold and are concluding that America’s best days are behind it. Dare we add, for emphasis, that after these two buffoons, the Democratic Party does not even have a bench.

Bidens decline is so obvious that pretending he will run in 2024 is like the sign in the window of Vaclav Havels greengrocer: a signal of submission to the party line, or - worse - an enforcer of the party line.
