As we cheer the demise of Osama bin Laden, we should not lose sight of the fact that the so-called Arab Spring has brought the Muslim Brotherhood within reach of political power in Egypt.
Whether or not this granddaddy of radical Islamist organizations gains power, it is certainly moving in that direction. From being outlawed by Mubarak, the Muslim Brotherhood has made a serious comeback.
Last Friday Ayaan Hirsi Ali reminded us not to allow the death of bin Laden to lull us into complacency about the continuing threat of Islamic radicalism.
The true danger, as she sees it, does not lie in acts of terrorism, but the kind of slow and methodical infiltration of government institutions that has been so skillfully practiced by the Muslim Brotherhood. Link here.
