Anti-Semitism, San Francisco Style

If you’re on the lookout for anti-Semitism you don’t have to go any further than San Francisco.

As you probably know by now, the great bastion of liberal American thought is going to vote on whether or not to ban circumcision within the city. Apparently, Santa Monica is considering a similar proposal.

Considering that Jews, most prominently, prescribe circumcision for boys, do you smell the stench of anti-Semitism in this ballot initiative? Or do you just think that it’s a protest against Israel?

This morning I came across some examples of the literature that is being distributed in San Francisco in support of the circumcision ban.

Here’s a link.

You do not have to have taken any courses in critical theory to know where these images come from. They are stock anti-Semitic images, retired after the fall of the Third Reich, brought back to life by the liberals in San Francisco.

We can be pretty confident that they don't...

Clicked on the link and went immediately to vomit mode.

Stu, someday the Reform and Conservative branches are going to have to belly up to the bar and address the fact that the biggest Jew haters around are of the left including the ultra-Euro-hip. This sh1t is happening in infested SanFran and Santa Monica, not in good old USA Fort Wayne or Jacksonville.

I couldn't agree with you more, Cappy. I simply cannot imagine how reform and conservative Jews continue to lean so far to the left, and how they miss the simple facts about where the anti-semitism is coming from.

Dare we say that people in Fort Worth and Jacksonville are a great deal more positively disposed to Israel than are the people in San Fran and Santa Monica.

This is appalling. I recall when my son was born, 24 years ago, we were strongly encouraged to forego circumcision, and told that in that hospital, it was 50/50. We went ahead, under the "like father, like son" rationale.

Today, a close friend of mine is head doc at Student Health Services at a mid-size university. I asked her what percentage of males she sees are circumcised. Her answer? 90%.

I get particularly agitated by anti-Israel sentiment from Jews. I am more conservative than all but one of my Jewish friends, and I'm far more supportive of Israel than all of them combined. I do not understand.

I don't understand either... I am often stupefied by it all. Perhaps the Jewish community will be shocked out of its liberal stupor by some of these and similar actions.
