“In 1979, the average college graduate made 38 percent more than the average high school graduate, according to the Fed chairman, Ben Bernanke. Now the average college graduate makes more than 75 percent more.”

Only a small part of this change is driven by advanced technology...most of it is due to the *decline* in the quality of k-12 schools, so that a H/S degree doesn't mean what it used to, combined with insane levels of credentialism which require college and graduate degrees for no other reason than...that's the way things are done these days.
