The Diversity Police Take Aim at Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley is one of America’s great success stories. The high tech mecca has produced scores of new businesses and countless jobs, not just in the Valley but in the nation and around the world.

What could be wrong with that?

If you belong to the Diversity Police, there’s a lot wrong with that.

Apparently, Silicon Valley suffers from a lack of diversity. The employees of these companies are male and nearly entirely white and Asian. The numbers for women are better than the numbers for minorities, but still, most of the women are working in the less sexy fields like marketing and administration.

One must understand that the high tech oligarchs are not against diversity. They do not belong to the Tea Party. They are not Republicans. In fact, they are active supporters of liberal and progressive causes.

Who knows why things are as they are, but feminists do not like it. They are launching an attack on Silicon Valley. They do not care about profit and loss. They do not care about job creation. They know nothing about business, anyway. They certainly do not care about what men or women want out of their careers or their lives.

Empty headed bean counters that they are, feminists want the companies to reflect natural gender difference.

The Atlantic reports the feminist view of business, such as it is not:

Now what? Assuming the goal is to get to 50/50—workforce representation that reflects the gender makeup in the real world—how long could that take? And by what means? (Based on how long it has taken for the gender pay gap to shrink, it could take another half-century for women to get equal pay, according to the Institute for Women's Policy Research.)

So, Silicon Valley is being put on notice. The feminist Diversity Police are on their case.

Good luck, guys.

It's all about THEM, and how they can hammer someone/something.

Given more women now graduate from college than men, apparently not enough are not graduating with technical degrees that are in demand in the Valley.

I work for a midwestern engineering consulting company, and there's a minority, but not an insignificant number of women engineers, BUT zero of them are American born. I think all are probably from European countries.

Well, as long as those rich millionaires and billionaires in Silicon Valley fund the 'progressives, support Democrats, and impose political correctness and 'diversity' on all of us, why not make them have a taste of their own medicine?

Silicon Valley supported the likes of Obama, Kagan, Holder, and Sotomayor who took away our rights.

So, why should we support Silicon Valley? Looks like chicken have come home to roost.

If rich Libs fund PC to attack us, let PC bite their ass too.

It's like Jon Lovitz calling himself a Democrat and voting for Obama but then asking for conservative support to protect his own wealth from taxes.

Disgusting.

Since Silicon Valley moguls love to show off as 'progressives' who are for equality and diversity, I sat tax them at 99% and force companies like Google to make sure that 50% of their workers are black or brown... or poor white.

A diversity of individuals. The other concepts deny or denigrate individual dignity. They are products of a degenerate religion (i.e. moral philosophy), which notably includes doctrines of inherited and collective sin.

As for feminists, they will never recover their credibility, let alone their dignity, after normalizing the "choice", which granted an extra-legal and moral right to women. Make life, not abortion!

It won't take a half-century if the "now what?" is (a) to shovel federal money into Silicon Valley in order to create jobs for women, and (b) to disallow non-diverse companies from competing for government business.

Consider the fire departments which have become "diverse" (i.e. stuffed with sub-performers); Doubling the numbers ensures there will be enough competent fire fighters on scene. Not coincidentally, that doubles the number of government-beholden union members. Washington would love to have the tech industry as a ward of the state, similar to the university gulag.
