Richard Milazzo Reviews "The Last Psychoanalyst"

Richard Milazzo has just reviewed The Last Psychoanalyst on Amazon.

His title:

The text of his review:

It's about time an expert in the field, an ex-Lacanian in fact, with a high degree of credibility on the subject, has written a book questioning not only the fundamental predicates of Freudian psychoanalytical theory and the basic model of the psyche propounded by Freud, but also the theorists who helped to give these theories and this model posthumous life (Lacan) and who inexplicably continue to this day to give them academic and supposed anti-academic (pseudo-avant-garde) credence (Zizek).

For those who are unfamiliar with Milazzo’s work, here’s the opening of his Wikipedia entry:

Richard Milazzo is a critic, curator, publisher, independent scholar and poet. In the 1970s, he was the editor and co-publisher of Out of London Press. He is the co-founding publisher and editor of Edgewise Press. In the 1980s, under the rubric of Collins & Milazzo, he co-curated art exhibitions and co-wrote works on art and art theory.

You will find a bibliography of his book-length work on his Amazon page.

Happy reading!

Indeed, a nice validating review, although maybe not the sort of review that encourages more readers.

I didn't know what/who (Zizek) was, but looks like a person:

-------
Žižek's early work used Jacques Lacan to interpret Hegelian and Marxist philosophy. During this time in the 1980s, he also edited and translated into Slovene Lacan, Sigmund Freud, and Louis Althusser.
...
Žižek has been publishing on a regular basis in journals such as Lacanian Ink and In These Times in the United States, the New Left Review and The London Review of Books in the United Kingdom, and with the Slovenian left-liberal magazine Mladina and newspapers Dnevnik and Delo.

Lacanian Ink is a cultural journal based in New York City and founded in the Autumn of 1990 by Josefina Ayerza to provide the American intellectual scene with the theoretical perspective of European post-structuralism. It features major analyses of psychoanalytic theory, poetry, philosophy and contemporary art.

A distinctive element of its contents is the dissemination of the work of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, whereby the seminars given by Jacques-Alain Miller at Paris VIII on Lacanian theory have become available in English.
