It’s always useful to glance at the results of Angela Merkel’s
grand experiment in opening Germany’s borders to Muslim migrants. Especially
now, as former President Obama is lauding Merkel’s cosmopolitanism and
attacking his successor’s xenophobic nationalism, it’s useful to take a look at
the facts.
The Obamas and the Merkels have no use for the fact
that knife violence in Germany has increased exponentially since Angela opened
her arms and her heart and God-knows what else to Muslim refugees.

Institute. His report is detailed and worth your time. For now, we report the salient points.

Knives,
axes and machetes have become weapons of choice for criminals in Germany, which
has some of the strictest gun laws in Europe. Knives are not only being used to
carry out jihadist attacks, but increasingly to commit homicides, robberies, home
invasions, sexual assaults, honor killings and many other kinds of violent crime.
Who is committing the knife attacks? Might it have something
to do with the new migrants? Surely, it looks that way:
Reliable
statistics on knife violence in Germany do not exist. A search of German
police blotters, however, shows that during the past ten years the number of
knife-related crimes in Germany has increased by more than 1,200%. Around 4,000
such crimes were reported to police in 2016, up from just 300 in 2007.
It is
also impossible to determine how many of these knife crimes involved migrants.
Increased censorship by the police and the media, aimed at stemming
anti-immigration sentiments, makes the public incapable of knowing the names
and national origins of many perpetrators or victims.
The
surge in knife-related violence in Germany does, however, coincide with
Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to allow in some two million migrants from
Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The number of reported knife crimes in
Germany jumped by 600% during the past four years — from about 550 in 2013 to
nearly 4,000 in 2016.
Police
reports show that both migrants and non-migrants are responsible for the
increase in knife crimes in Germany. Merkel's open-door migration policies
appear to have set in motion a self-reinforcing cycle of violence in which more
and more people are carrying knives in public — including for self-defense. Her
policies appear to be leading to more and more stabbings, especially when
alcohol is involved.
The powers-that-be will consider this another chance to show how well they can control the media and the flow of information.

In Germany, the truth will get you arrested, for the truth ist Verboten. East Germany has taken over West Germany.
It's certainly good that statistics are collected. I doubt anyone is trying to suppress them. Any increases are alarming, but still need context.
I've not heard of Gatestone, but it does look like they are not objective observers, but have a mission to reduce immigration. Rush Limbaugh told me "Never trust the facts of people with causes" and none of us are honest when we start with our conclusions and look for supporting evidence.

The organization describes itself as a "non-partisan, not-for-profit international policy council and think tank is dedicated to educating the public about what the mainstream media fails to report." The organization believes that traditional news outlets conduct insufficient and, as a result, misleading reporting on critical issues, and thus it distributes its own information about events in the Middle East and Muslim populations in other parts of the world.
In 2011 and 2012, Gatestone published articles claiming that Europe had Muslim "no-go zones", describing them variously as "off-limits to non-Muslims" and "microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law". The claim that there are areas in European cities governed by Sharia is false, although many of the areas deemed as "no-go zones" have high levels of unemployment and crime. Gatestone's claims were picked up by many outlets, including FrontPageMag, and Washington Times. The idea of no-go zones originated from Daniel Pipes, who later retracted his claims.
On November 18, 2016, Gatestone originally published an article that said the British Press was ordered to avoid reporting the Muslim identity of terrorists by the European Union. Snopes rated the claim "false". Snopes pointed out that the report only made a recommendation and it was issued by the Council of Europe, not the European Union. Gatestone subsequently corrected the article and apologized for the error, before removing it entirely from its website.
