This, from the Guardian, via Hot Air via Maggie's Farm:
Some previous studies have suggested that coffee stiffens arteries, putting pressure on the heart and increasing the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke, with drinkers warned to cut down their consumption.
But a new study of more than 8,000 people across the UK found that drinking five cups a day, and even up to 25, was no worse for the arteries than drinking less than a cup a day.

Never touch the stuff, myself.
Used to drink almost that many espressos a day before giving up my espresso machine because I had to stop.
The story why I won't bother, but giving up espresso certainly wasn't solely due to the espresso consumption- it certainly did not help the combined effects at the time. I still miss espresso, plain coffee is fine and still drink it in moderation, plain black espresso simply tastes much better.
