Initial Reactions to the Death of Soleimani

First, a few words about the death of Iranian terrorist chieftain Qasem Soleimani, from the world of Twitter. More to come in a further post:

First, from Sean Davis of The Federalist:

When terrorists attacked a U.S. diplomatic outpost and murdered four Americans in Libya, Obama responded by lying about what happened and arresting a YouTuber. When terrorists attacked the U.S. embassy in Iraq, Trump turned the men responsible into pink dust.

Next, Danial McCarthy:

The “killing Soleimani means Iran goes to war” instant consensus reminds me an awful lot of the instant consensus that said a U.S. embassy in Jerusalem would unleash massive violence. And Soleimani wasn’t exactly a force for regional stability or a champion of noninterventionism.

And, finally, for now, Emerald Robinson:

Iran's top military commander was just killed in Baghdad. The deputy chief of Hezbollah was killed. Iran's top militia leader in Iraq was killed. The two militia leaders who led the attack on our embassy were arrested by Marines as well. This is a massive response by Trump.

The greatest single act of political and military decapitation in my lifetime. This was a perfect target, combined with spot-on intelligence, executed with lethal accuracy. We wiped out their entire leadership command and did so without killing any Iranian civilians. The chances those variables line up is highly improbable, once in a lifetime, but Trump saw the play and acted decisively so as not to lose the opportunity. The fox watched, waited, and then became the lion. The message was sent to all the right people. The lion is feared. People wondered if he had a lion in there; now they know. The Muslim world just got a glimpse of being on the wrong side of Orangeman, and they are concerned. This almost redeems 40 years of allowing the Iranians to duck retribution. Trump just settled a lot of family business.

Machiavelli is clapping from his throne in hell as he watches the bloody bits of the Iranian animals get dumped into a hole to stop up a wall.

Truly an intelligence coup.

John Kerry hardest hit. I'll bet his face is so long his tears turn into virga.
