Et tu, Oxford.
Now the most venerable of venerable institutions, Oxford University is following the lead of Stanford and other august institutions. It has decided to mark black students more leniently.
Of course, as Shelby Steele remarked some two decades ago, this means that now employers will assume that all black graduates of Oxford, even those who hold degrees in science and math, will not have earned it. Great thinking, guys.
The Times of London reports:
Oxford University has revealed plans to “decolonise” its maths and science degrees and will allow students of any subject who have been affected by the Black Lives Matter furore to seek lenient marking.
In a letter to the student union, Louise Richardson, vice-chancellor, said that the mathematical, physical and life sciences division had been awarded a grant to develop teaching resources that supported the diversification of its curriculums, describing it as “an area that is frequently overlooked”.
She added: “Many departments in social sciences have begun work on making their curriculum more inclusive and adding diverse voices to it. This includes steps such as integrating race and gender questions into topics, embedding teaching on colonialism and empire into courses, changing reading lists to ensure substantial representation of a diverse range of voices, and ensuring better coverage of issues concerning the global South in syllabuses.”

It must be promoted that all universities with any names or figures who were in any way not aligned with the modern woke ideology must be renamed. Stanford must be renamed. Yale must be renamed. All universities and public institutions must be scrubbed of their racist brands.
I rather like the idea of passing out fake degrees in disciplines that fake practitioners will get people killed. It forces the next level of clarity: are you willing to build a faulty bridge in order to keep your job at the university? Structural engineering must conform to racial ideology. If you speak against this, you will be named and terminated. You will become a public racist.
This effort also completely confirms the positions of people who hold views about intelligence and demographics that must never be said publicly. There is no length that the left will not go to dispel the truth that must no be thought or uttered. Math is hard, so make it easy. Now we just have chaff. But everyone will know. The ones who can do will know and the ones who cannot do will know. At least now the lie will be front and center; like a dead and rotting carcass in the lecture hall.
However this ends, everyone involved will lie about it and claim that it achieved salutary results.
