I guess that's what happens when you model your life and experiences after a self-indulgent, petulant, whiny woman-child.

I hated this book more than I can possibly say, and the thought that people actually are trying to replicate what she did? Deplorable.

Thanks for the note, Sarah. I'm glad that some other people have come to the same conclusion about the book's advice.

I dumped my wife (she bored me)and ate my way through SE Asia and Southern Europe.

I wasn't very chaste during the trip, though.

No book deal for me, and strangely, all people do when i tell them my story is complain about my "selfish mid-life crisis"....

Americans approach spirituality like they do food and sex - FAST!

The fact is that enlightenment does not happen in a day, month, year or even in a lifetime.

The process of enlightenment is often boring - practicing day in and day out, performing humbling and menial tasks, eschewing the limelight, etc.

Those who have undergone this process are not to be found via websites. If you find them they might be in jungles or caves with few if any followers, and most likely they will not speak English.
