"The point is not "He was a great man and you are a nincompoop," though that is true."
I laughed aloud. Palin is such a lightweight, and though I think her philosophy (conservative) is generally right, I think she gets it unexamined--which is a house built on sand.
Here's a biographer of Margaret Thatcher being forced to compare her with Palin.
Claire Berlinski: Margaret Thatcher had a 20 year Parliamentary career in which she clearly expressed every position relevant to Britain’s political life: foreign policy; economy. In terms that were absolutely clear to anyone who wanted to consult them, by the time anyone was seriously talking about her as a leader of the Conservative Party. No one was saying well in a few years maybe she’ll have mastered this. She had mastered this all years, years before anyone was seriously talking about this. We’re talking about President of the United States at a time of unique geo-political danger. At a time when the United States economy is in the worst shape it’s been in the Great Depression and no one is even entirely sure why. We’re talking about the world’s last remaining super power to which every other country is looking for signals for hope for leadership. And we’re talking about putting someone who might be prepared in 2016 in office. Are you serious? Where are the adults? I don’t want someone who might be prepared in 2016 to even be spoken about as a possible President of the United States right now.

....'Assume', Sir....
....that Obama WANTED to be a president that wanted to do good for America. I submit that there is a vast amount of evidence to the contrary. Dating back over 20 years to sitting in a church where the 'minister' called down curses from God on this country. Let alone his association with a self-admitted terrorist bomber who plotted to send 25 million Americans to a Southwestern 'gulag'.
These, from a military perspective, are considered 'key indicators' of something very much different than loving this country.

...that Democrats and Republicans are 'together again', of late they have not been that far appart. And I'm looking back at over 20 years, i.e., since Reagan left office.
Let me remind you that Bush the Elder caved to tax hikes. Let me further remind you that Bush the Lesser signed into law the FIRST BAILOUT. Let alone that the Republican-controlled Senate FAILED to impeach Clinton for perjury. Or during the recent election the RNC did as much damage as it could to the peoples' choices.
Locally, I'm sick and tired of the slipshod 'happy days' approach to politics as exercised by the local Republican chair. This February I'm looking to make the local Tea Party chair the county Republican Party chair.
It's time to take the fight to the enemy. [Note: And by the by, that's how Obama described US just before the election. It was a Freudian slip-up.]
