I’ve been looking for just the right Christmas present for
you.
Naturally, I lit on Bach’s Christmas Oratorio.
But, I thought, it’s much too long, and it’s in German. Happily, I was able to find a version with subtitles.
Nothing says that you have to listen to it all or all
at once.
All things considered, it’s a great gift, well worth however
much time you would want to devote to it.

I bought the Robert Greenberg Course on Bach and the High Baroque from the Great Courses. Well, WELL worth the money, if you're a layman who likes Bach and wants to understand his music better.
Excellent suggestion... and a great holiday gift.
