And Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

I found a delightful Smithsonian article, "What Was on the Menu at the First Thanksgiving?". It all started after Governor William Bradford sent 4 men fowling to collect wild fowl for an autumn feast. The local Wampanoag Indians thought all the shooting was a white man's uprising. king Massasoit with 90 of his men discovered that it was just a hunting expedition for a feast. The Indians then wisely decided to join in on the feast and contributed 5 deer.

What most people may not know is that this group of festive souls then spent the next 3 days feasting and giving thanks. I don't know about you, but 3 days of feasting sounds better than shopping on Black Friday or any other day.

I am most grateful to Stuart for his creativity and profound insight. I also appreciate the perspective shared by so many thoughtful men and women in their comments.

This blog (and all who participate) is one of the things that keeps me sane amidst roils of human nuttiness and self-deception that drive so many into therapy. Yes, I've had enough.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families!
