Speaking of Germany—see prior post—the Social Democratic
Party, the junior partner in Merkel’s governing coalition has found a real
enemy. Not Muslim refugees who rape children. The real enemy is sexism. And the
SPD is going to fight sexism is by producing politically correct pornography. Could it be that they consider it a good business opportunity?
You can’t make this stuff up. And, no, it does not come from
the Onion. It comes to us from the Daily Mail:
Germany is
set to make state-funded feminist porn and broadcast it to the public to combat
sexist stereotypes.
The
material, which would include fat, skinny, young and old people, will be
available on the websites of public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, if the idea goes
ahead.
The
idea was voted on by Angela Merkel's
social-democratic coalition partners at a general assembly in Berlin.
Think of all the research the SPD did to discover what
was wrong with pornography:
In the
proposal, the SPD wrote: 'Mainstream porn generally shows sexist and racial
stereotypes in which consent is not a theme and certain "optimal"
body types are made as standard.'
'In
these films, sex seems more like a performance or competitive sport: everything
seems to work right away, there is no communication between the performers, no
trying out, failure and trying out new things.'
I cannot pretend to any expertise on the topic, but the
German social democrats do not seem to understand that they are simply
promoting fetish porn. It’s not as though the world lacks fetish porn… of every
size, shape and color.
Surely, there is a market for fetish porn. But, forcing
people to watch it, even trying to force people to watch it, sounds like yet
another way to degrade new classes of people. And another way to attempt to
exert government control over free markets.
As for the war against sexist stereotypes, why not declare
war against the arrant stupidity of politicians who are up in arms against unrealistic pornography. Who said that pornography or any other artistic endeavor had to reflect reality. Next up, a war on cartoons.
If the politicians don’t find it realistic,
perhaps they are just speaking from their own experience.

For some reason, I am reminded of this exchange from Alfred Hitchcock's excellent 1954 film, Rear Window, which is likely a screenwriter's musing on how Mr. Edison's little motion picture camera took voyeurism, which has been with us since the paleolithic era, from being merely a creepy person's hobby to a widely-enjoyed, mainstream practice:

Feminist porn is an oxymoron. Aside from the obvious misogynist problem, pornography rewires peoples brains in the same way that drugs do. I can't believe what a disgusting cesspit of bile that modern feminism has become - the early feminists would surely turn in their graves.
