Since everyone’s favorite imbecile, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
believes that “white supremacists committed the largest # of extremist killings
in 2017,” you can feel confident that white supremacists did not commit the
largest number of extremist killings in 2017.
During the Obama administration, when Muslim extremists
committed a significant number of mass killings, as in the Boston Marathon, Ft.
Hood, San Bernardino and Orlando, no one dared denounce Islamists for these
killings.
Besides, when Hektor Cruz, not a white supremacist, committed
mass murder in Parkland, FL, no one rushed out to blame non-whites. Everyone
blamed the NRA.
In any event, the left is rising up in anger against white
supremacists because they are not the world’s largest problem. When you are a
coward and refuse to face the real dangers you find a secondary danger, one
that does not really threaten you.
Besides, when real Nazis were running wild in Europe, our
president, one Franklin Roosevelt happily ignored the danger until it had
gotten completely out of control.
Seth Barron easily sets AOC straight on the source of
extremist violence. (via Maggie's Farm) Much of it took place in Northeast Africa. It was committed
by Muslim terrorists:
The
worst terrorist event of 2017, according to
the State Department, was the explosion of a truck bomb outside the Safari
Hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia, which killed more than 580 people. This violent
act is believed to have been the work of Al-Shabaab, which was responsible for
97 percent of the 370 instances of extremist killings in Somalia in 2017,
accounting for about 1,400 deaths—mostly civilian. The remaining violent acts
were carried out by Jabha East Africa (ISIS-Somalia), a dissident Al-Shabaab
splinter group.
And, in Egypt:
The
deadliest extremist attack in Egypt’s history took place in 2017, when
ISIS-Sinai terrorists converged on a mosque in Sinai during Friday prayers and
slaughtered 312 people, including 27 children, when they came outside. Also in
Egypt that year, on Palm Sunday, an extremist suicide bomber connected to
IS-Egypt killed 30 Coptic Christians at a church in Tanta. He coordinated his
actions with another suicide bomber, who killed 16 people at a church in
Alexandria.
Among the other Islamist attacks from 2017 were these:
The
first day of 2017 was marked by an ISIS attack on a nightclub in Istanbul; the
Uzbeki perpetrator killed 35 people. In April, another Uzbeki rammed a truck
into a crowd of people in Stockholm, killing seven. In August, ISIS militant
Younes Abouyaaqoub ran a truck into a crowd of people in Barcelona, killing 15
people. I mention these acts of extremist killing in Turkey, Sweden, and Spain
to illustrate the global nature of the phenomenon; strictly in terms of the
numbers of people killed, they are scarcely of note.
This has not deterred the New York Times from going back
nine years and discovering 15 incidents. One suspects that the paper of record did not stack
them up against the acts of Islamist terror during the Bush and Obama
administrations.
Barron notes that much of what the Times considers to be
white extremism is not really white extremism. I am sure you are shocked:
The New York Times timeline of
“white extremist” murders covers nine years and 15 incidents, bookended by the
heinous and indisputably racist attacks in Norway (in 2011) and Christchurch.
Some of the most prominent killings among the remaining 13 incidents, though,
resist categorization as acts of white racial terror. Ali Sonboly, the son of
Iranian Shi’ite Muslim immigrants and visibly a racial minority, carried out
the 2016 Munich mall shooting. The 2016 Umpqua Community College shooting was carried
out by a self-identified “mixed-race” man, as was the 2014 Isla Vista massacre,
whose perpetrator believed that being half-Chinese made him unattractive to
women. The 2018 Toronto van massacre was perpetrated by a white man who
declared that he was part of an “Incel Rebellion” against the “Chads and
Stacys” of the world—in other words, he was angry that he could not get a
girlfriend and was committed to overthrowing the “beautiful people.” The killer
mowed down pedestrians in Toronto’s business district at random. The Times’ inclusion of these four
incidents calls into question the value of its diagnosis of “white extremist
killers.”
So, those who believe that white people are the root of all
human evil will always find bad things that white people have done.
Unfortunately, the systematic hatred of white people, the systematic
scapegoating of white people, is shown
by the facts to be empty rhetoric. Its purpose is to cover up the cowardice of those
who cannot bring themselves to fight radical Islam or even to call it by its
name.

Dems love their own extremists, and only them. And call them "freedom fighters".
The NRA is dangerous to Democrats because it is an effective organization. And it always will be. It is energized. The NRA membership funds the organization, and they vote. The Second Amendment is a civil rights issue of the highest order. How people don’t see this is beyond my understanding. The gun-confiscator agenda is transparent. There really is little middle ground on the Second Amendment, and all the “common sense” initiatives are nonsensical. They’re non-starters... and not just for the gun nut crowd. We’re Americans. The gun culture is uniquely American. If you want to ignore that, knock yourself out... but you will NEVER be effective. Not a chance. Good luck.
