Jeff Bezos is moving to Los Angeles, when he is not living in one of his properties in Seattle, Washington, D. C. or New York City. But the Amazon headquarters is located in Seattle, Washington, a thoroughly woke urban dystopia.
One suspects that more than a few Amazonians have had it with Seattle. And one suspects that it is becoming more difficult to hire young coders when the job offer includes the pain of living in Seattle.
So, Amazon is helping its employees to relocate outside of the city. The New York Post has this story:
Amazon is taking steps to allow employees to work outside of the city, which has been plagued in recent months by both coronavirus and Antifa violence.
On Thursday the company sent a message to their employees in the city floating the possibility of other nearby municipalities they might be comfortable living in, Bloomberg reported.
Among the ideas floated were nearby Tacoma and Redmond.
“GREF (Global real estate and facilities) is always exploring real estate options to support our diverse and growing population, and is considering new locations in the Puget Sound region (in addition to Seattle and Bellevue).” the message read.
And also,
In recent days the city has also been rocked by Antifa violence, as gangs of marauding protesters have destroyed property — often facing little resistance from police. The city’s Democratic mayor Jenny Durkan is currently facing a recall effort for her role in surrendered a large slice of downtown Seattle to the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.
Bad leadership has consequences. But, at least the people leading Seattle are diverse. And that’s what really matters, isn’t it?

I hope no one suggests they move to Texas. That amount of "woke" brain activity will never be eradicated. It will always be simmering under the surface; no matter where they live.

A lot of companies and employees are deciding that the work-from-home approach works as well or better...saves office real estate costs, saves commuting time, reduces employee living expenses...and much of this is going to continue after C-19 is not longer a factor. I wrote about some of the pros and cons here:

For one thing, remote work in the US will in some cases be only a waystation on the way to remote work in some lower-cost country.
Within the US: to the extent that work can be done anywhere, those cities which allow themselves to devolve into chaos are hardly going to be favored destinations.
Correct on all points... in some companies they are not even allowing staff to work from the office. I still wonder about the psychological fallout from disconnection, but that might be solved by simply moving the offices out of the large cities, to follow the people. We know that many hedge funds are in Connecticut-- except for those that are leaving because of the taxes. And JP Morgan Chase built a hub in Plano, TX. Factories are moving out, perhaps office complexes will be next. They might even take over all of the abandoned malls.
And the employees take their demented reason with them to be foul the next nest. And Bezos continues to use his power to express and enforce woke ideology. The cancer just moves to a new part of the body.

Jeffy-boy is not as smart as he thinks, if he's moving to L.A. Dem gov, Dem mayor: TWO-TIME LOOSERS, just like Seattle.
Let us not overlook REI, one of the wokest of the woke.
