Wednesday Potpourri

First, the statement was so egregious that it has been reported everywhere. It came from the Biden administration’s nitwit of a press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre.

Asked about the rise of anti-Semitism in America she responded by saying “Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks."

Was it a Freudian slip or is she really that stupid? Perhaps, both.

Second, from the satirical Babylon Bee:

Hamas Clarifies They Meant To Start The Type Of War Where They Get To Do Whatever They Want And No One Fights Back

Third, as for the Biden administration claim that Palestinians are not supporters of Hamas, Victor Davis Hanson wrote this:

The glee with which Gazans and West Bankers met the news of mass murder, mutilation, hostage-taking, rape, and the desecration of bodies is proof enough that these dictatorial governments probably do represent the majority of their citizens.

The Gazan delight in the grotesque was reminiscent of some medieval pogrom, or the Roman triumphs of old with their files of enslaved captives. And perhaps the desire to take captives and pass them back through the killing fields to Gaza reminds of the Aztec practice of seeking to capture rather than just kill their enemies, in order to have plenty of bodies for the human sacrifices on Templo Major.

Fortunately, you have read a similar point here. The Hamas attack was pagan idolatry run amok, people pretending to be godlike by practicing human sacrifice.

Fourth, it’s time for mass deportations, don’t you think:

German chancellor after visiting Israel and seeing the results of the Hamas rampage and then returning home and seeing migrants supporting Hamas: "we'll have to start deporting on a large scale."

Fifth, America’s young people, their minds infected by the woke mind virus, have no moral compass and cannot think.

Twitter:

51% of 18 to 24-year-olds say Hamas's slaughter of Israeli citizens was justified. Yet 62% also say it was a genocide. So, a sizeable number of young Americans think genocide against Israelis is justified. What the actual fuck?

Sixth, as Israel suffers the worst massacre since the Holocaust, it also discovers who its friends are. The international left sides with Hamas and is working to save it.

Joel Kotkin explains that this attitude is pervasive, in Europe and in America:

None of this, however, contradicts the reality that in the US, Europe, Australia, the UK and Canada, the targeting of Jews now comes overwhelmingly from the left and its constituencies. A detailed 2017 survey from the University of Oslo found that in Scandinavia, Germany, Britain and France, most anti-Semitic violence came from Muslims, including recent immigrants. Similarly, a poll of European Jews found the majority of incidents of anti-Semitism came either from Muslims or left-wingers. Barely 13 per cent traced it to right-wingers. Violence against Jews is especially bad in places like the migrant-dominated suburb of Malmo in Sweden. In Paris and London – the last great redoubts of Jewish life in Europe – the danger is less right-wing anti-Semitism than the pernicious new hybrid that joins leftist and Islamist hatred. Meanwhile, virtually all right-wing parties (including the US Republicans and the Canadian and British Conservatives) have been unanimous in supporting Israel.

Seventh, the highly estimable Bari Weiss, from The Free Press on Substack, waxes nostalgic for Donald Trump:

As a Democrat who has been left homeless, who is now definitely in the center but probably leaning increasingly right, I am left yet again with an appreciation, despite the messenger, of the message of the Trump administration because what those guys did was pretty incredible in hindsight.” “So much of the work that happened in that [Trump] administration turns out to have been right. And that’s what is so frustrating for me. The work on the border wall? We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. Turned out it was right. Issuing long-term debt to refinance when rates were at zero? We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. A structural peace in the Middle East? We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message.” “When are we gonna stop shooting ourselves in the foot? And when are we going to actually see and take the time to look past who is saying things and actually listen to them word for word?” “If it’s clear that the last two weeks have been a wake-up call, the next question is: Why?” “Part of the answer is the sheer depravity of Hamas’s terrorism. That depravity has made the justification and celebration of their acts by those who police pronouns that much starker. The contradictions and moral bankruptcy of a worldview that spends years worrying about microaggressions and tone policing, but can’t decide what side it is on after the beheading of babies, aren’t exactly difficult to spot.” “To put it another way: when Black Lives Matter organizations are lionizing Islamist terrorists by posting a paraglider logo, you’d be a fool not to reassess things.” “The events of the last week have shattered the illusion that wokeness is about protecting victims and standing up for persecuted minorities. This ideology is and has always been about the one thing many of us have told you it is about for years: power. “And after the last two weeks, there can be no doubt about how these people will use any power they seize: they will seek to destroy, in any way they can, those who disagree.”

Why does Trump not receive any credit for his achievements? Perhaps because he refused to be more “presidential.” I realize that no one agrees with this, but that makes it more likely to be true.

Eighth, of course, the Biden administration is anything but presidential. America’s enemies perceive it as weak and incompetent. They will know that it has hired people, not because of their competence, but in order to fulfill quotas. Reports have it that Biden’s team is wracked with fear these days. It’s the cost of incompetence and inexperience.

These people are out of the depth or in over their heads.

Then again, to make them sound even more pathetic, the White House is conducting group therapy sessions, where incompetent staff can get in touch with their feelings.

Ninth, Konstantin Kisin reported this:

A friend of mine joked that she woke up on October 7 as a liberal and went to bed that evening as a 65-year-old conservative. But it wasn’t really a joke and she wasn’t the only one. What changed?

Tenth, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres has gone soft on Hamas, by saying that their massacre did not happen in a vacuum.

One can say the same thing  about any genocide, but the Portuguese leftist feels compelled to be part of the international left.

Eleventh,  naturally the weak-kneed and mealy-mouthed American Secretary of State showed his true colors when he spoke to the United Nations and declared that Hamas should be rewarded for its cowardly massacre by having its own state.

To which Daniel Greenfield responded:

72% of 'Palestinians' don’t support a two-state solution. Among the young, there’s only 16% support for coexistence with Israel. 81% of them don’t believe that a permanent peace will ever be achieved.

Twelfth, Blake Flayton offers some news you can use, on Twitter:

The lesbian club at Columbia, “LionLez,” says “Zionists aren’t invited” to their upcoming movie night, says “only white Jews are allowed to live in Israel” and says “white Jewish people are today and always have been the oppressors of all brown people.”

They will hold their next meeting held in Gaza, where homosexuality is a capital crime. Good thinking, girls.

Thirteenth, just in case you were tempted to bemoan the impoverishment of the Gazans, Prof. Normal Fenton offers this reality check:

Apparently the Gaza Palestinians have ‘nothing’ ….. except an inexhaustible supply of rockets to fire at Israeli civilians (over 9000 in 2 weeks). And every penny of those appeals to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza goes to Hamas.

Fourteenth, by Jeffrey Varasano, from Lisa Schiffren’s Facebook page, another reality check:

If you think Islam is at war with Israel because of occupation, you are completely missing the point. Islam is at war with ALL of its neighbors, and always has been because that's its doctrine. It's at war in India even after carving off Pakistan. They blow up malls in Kenya. They kidnap, rape and burn villages in Nigeria. They commit genocide in Sudan. They blow up ancient Buddhist temples in Afghanistan. They capture yazidi women as sex slaves. They cut off heads in the streets of London and Paris. They surrounded and rape women at events in Germany and Cairo. They hold hostage a thousand Russian children in Beslan Russia. They auction off slaves in Libya. It's endless.

Fifteenth, the shoplifting epidemic is costing the nation many of its drug stores. Naturally, no one has a clue about which group, in particular, is responsible for the loss of access to medical care.

The Daily Mail:

The nation's largest drugstore chains, Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens, will shutter more than 1,500 stores, leaving millions of Americans without access to healthcare in 'pharmacy deserts.'

A slew of drugstore chains slashing their locations has left millions of people living in areas where it's difficult to obtain medication, areas known as 'pharmacy deserts,' according to JAMA Network.

'According to our estimates, about one in four neighborhoods are pharmacy deserts across the country,' Dima Qato, an associate professor at the University of Southern California, said to the Washington Post.

The major drugstore chain is coming to the end of a policy launched in 2021 which will see 300 stores closed each year - meaning 900 will have shuttered by 2024.

CVS made the reforms to adjust to the needs of online shoppers while battling rampant shoplifting.

Sixteenth, showing leadership, the governor of Florida, that would be Ron DeSantis has done what a governor can do about Hamas:

Mary Margaret Olohan notes on Twitter

NEW: Governor DeSantis just ordered the University of Florida and the University of South Florida to deactivate their "Students for Justice in Palestine" groups for violating Florida's laws against antisemitism.

Seventeenth, on the transmania front, mutilated victims of the mania are suing. It's about time.

Billboard Chris reports on Twitter:

The American Academy of Pediatrics and several leading doctors are being sued for civil conspiracy, fraud, and medical malpractice! Isabelle Ayala was just 14 years old and struggling with trauma, depression, cutting, and suicidal ideation when she was coerced onto testosterone by ideologically captured doctors who push childhood sex changes. Isabelle has suffered from vaginal atrophy from the extensive use of testosterone; she deals with excess facial and body hair; she struggles with compromised bone structure; she is unsure whether her fertility has been irreversibly compromised; she still has mental health issues and deals with episodes of anxiety and depression, further compounded by a sense of regret; and she has since contracted an autoimmune disease that only the males in her family have a history of.

I think it obvious that Trump promulgated some good policy choices, with, among other examples, the glaring, blindingly stupid exception of the ridiculous Warp Speed debacle. Some "deal", dude.

But the reason I will never vote for him again (unless it's Trump v. Biden) is simple: IMO, he's an offensive gasbag.

Once again, if Hitler were non-white, American Jews would be fighting for first place in line for the camps.

I really get tired of saying that. I wish someone would convince me that it wasn't true.
