Trey Gowdy Vs. Jonathan Gruber

Everyone is so preoccupied with the Senate report about torture that some of you might have missed out on the confrontation at the House Committee on Governmental Affairs.

Among the highlights was Rep. Trey Gowdy's grilling MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber.

For your edification.

All of us are capable of saying things we don't mean or have not fully thought out the ramifications, but to keep doing it demonstrates a mind set. A mind set that no amount of faux apologies is going to cover over.
As I have stated before most people are NOT as dumb as others think nor are most people as smart as they think. Here, under the capable hands of Trey Gowdy, Mr Gruber demonstrates that fact. Though the really important question was asked by Rep. Issa. In all of these academic conference was there not one of these highly educated individuals that questioned Gruber's ascertions? The fact that there seemed not to be is an indication of the quality of individuals that populate academia.
One would think that at some point even these people would recognize that the amount of one's education does NOT equal intelligence, especially given that we generally have Leftists giving PhDs to other Leftists at the expense of true scholarship. There is a part of me that would like to have an independent board reevaluate those who have PhDs to see if they actually meet the academic qualifications. In many cases I would not mind seeing that applied to anyone with a degree at any level, especially at the ivies. We have such poor scholarship, driven by politics, ideology and government money, that it may need to be done.
This really is about people who truly believe that they are our betters by whatever definitions they, as a matter of making the rules, determine is important. All of this so called expertise has not improved, in fact has degraded, our country or its citizen's chances at succeeding in life. Academe has done more to make people who are capable of withstanding the challenges of life. Do these educated individual not understand that they are citizens as well?
One only needs to look at Columbia's response, why do these things tend to have their origin in places like NYC and the ivies, to it law students. That is what we really need in a lawyer who cowers as soon as a case may not go his/her way. One's defense is determined by the emotional ability of a person who may not be able to function within a reality that exceeds his/her capacity or capability.
So the real problem here is academe that creates, perpetuates and act as a haven for these kinds of poorly adjusted human beings.

Trey Gowdy's cross examination of those lefty-Prog water carriers who appear before any committee on which he sits, is usually a thing of beauty!

Every current faux journalist should latch on to every Gowdy You Tube thy can find and see how real inquiry is executed and accomplished. Yeah, that's right....he's not very "nice" to those who are used to speaking out of both sides of their mouths, without challenge.
