For those who missed it, President Obama made the following
statement on September 18:
You have never seen in the history of the United
States the debt ceiling or the threat of not raising the debt being used to
extort a president or a governing party and trying to force issues that have
nothing to do with the budget and nothing to do with the debt.
Most readers of this blog know
better than to believe that Obama is on intimate terms with the truth. For those unhappy few who still cling to their faith in him the analysis of this statement ought to be sobering, at the least.
Washington
Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler examined the facts and concluded that Obama's remark was untrue. He gave Obama 4 Pinocchios for his performance.
I will spare you the details.
Anyone who still believes that the current situation is unprecedented will be happy to have been corrected.

Obama is not conversant with the truth. He has always depended upon people not actually checking the veracity of his statements and the shear lack of knowledge of many who support him. In the comments one even called the Washington Post right wing. At best it would be left of center.
Truly amazing how easily these people evade dealing with the facts presented. It demonstrates why there is an increasing reliance upon name calling, invective and pejorative instead of a reasoned argument for their position. If they took the time to do this I suspect that the cognizant dissonance would drive many to a very uncomfortable position.
