Prof. Stephen Carter has a few wise words for his progressive
friends:
Too
many of my progressive friends seem to have forgotten how to make actual
arguments, and have become expert instead at condemnation, derision and
mockery. On issue after issue, they’re very good at explaining why no one could
oppose their policy positions except for the basest of motives. As to those
positions themselves, they are too often announced with a zealous solemnity
suggesting that their views are Holy Writ -- and those who disagree are cast
into the outer political darkness. In short, the left has lately been dripping
with hubris, which in classic literature always portends a fall.

Well, I just have one thing to say...
BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Now... NOW, the NYT tells us, it's going to start reporting the facts.
Expect stories on the legions of the homeless, sick mothers who can't afford insurance with sky-high deductibles, the epidemic of Latino domestic violence, and the filthy slums of Chicago.
All. Trump's. Fault.
Hubris, indeed. Luxuriating in mindless complaint about... everything. Such lugubrious emotional vomiting inspires lots of courage and admiration from our nation's finest, most productive people. And it attracts the best people in the land, as the anti-Trump (translation: anti-election) crowd shows us by the hour. I share TW'a delight. Roll tape. Pass the popcorn.
One looks around the world and we see countries named Japan, France, Vietnam, Germany, Yemen, et al. When we think of the name of this country it is not something like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, et al, but it is called the UNITED STATES of America. Emphasis on States not large population centers.
How can anyone not recognize that a candidacy based of large urban centers is not and cannot be representative of the vast majority of Americans. We even took the time to put safeguards in place to ensure large state and urban areas could not control the rest of the country. How can anyone not recognize that having contempt for large swaths of the country is not a winning plan? How can anyone show utter distain for a large percentage of the electorate as represented by the states and think that they are going win. When the Left and its chosen candidate thinks in this manner they are destined to lose.
In the 1940's Aaron Copland wrote "Fanfare for the Common Man" and it would seem that much of the establishment forgot the majesty as portrayed by this piece of music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLMVB0B1_Ts of the common man.
Further, how could anyone believe that you can make the country slaves to the government in DC before people were going to rebel in the only peaceful means they have available?
