Knife Control in Once-Great Britain

Led by London Mayor and notably weak-kneed coward Sadiq Khan the British nation has now decided to fight back against knife violence… by a new campaign that should be called: Ban the blade. It could be called: Forever chopsticks. In truth, it’s called: knife control.

You thought it was satire, Guy Benson explains, but it’s true. The rash of stabbings, committed by immigrant gangs, has brought forth a suitably weak response from Khan and from home secretary, Amber Rudd. Not exactly profiles in courage.

Benson quotes the story from the Times of London:

Anyone buying a knife online will be banned from having it sent to a residential address, under a government crackdown following a surge in street stabbings. New legislation, to be brought forward within weeks, will also make it illegal to possess zombie knives and knuckledusters in private – or any knife on further education premises...The measures – which also include a ban on acid sales to under-18s – will all be included in a new “serious violence strategy”, to be launched by the home secretary, Amber Rudd, on Monday...“This government has always stood for law and order and to tackle violent crime effectively, robust legislation and powerful law enforcement must be in place,” the home secretary said. “That’s why we will introduce a new offensive weapons bill that includes a new offence of possessing acid in public without good reason, prevents sales of acids to under 18s and stops knives being sent to people’s homes when bought online.”

Now, Benson continues, you are going to have to show an ID card before you purchase a carving knife. But, it’s not just carving knives. The new rules are also going to restrict the sales of plastic knives. But, the enquiring mind wants to know, what about forks? And, what about pitchforks?

You can’t make this stuff up.

Emily Zanotti offers more details in The Daily Wire.

An epidemic of stabbings and acid attacks in London has gotten so bad that London mayor Sadiq Khan is announcing broad new "knife control" policies designed to keep these weapons of war out of the hands of Londoners looking to cause others harm

The "tough, immediate" measures involve an incredible police crackdown, a ban on home deliveries of knives and acid, and expanding law enforcement stop-and-search powers so that police may stop anyone they believe to be a threat, or planning a knife or acid attack.

And the local constabulary is going to put a new stop and search policy—we would call it stop and frisk. As you know, our civil libertarians have told us that these policies are discriminatory and never work. Explain that to Londoners.

Mayor Khan knew all about the American experience and had effectively banned stop and search: because it was racist and Islamophobic:

Strangely enough, Khan is responsible for decreasing the number of stop-and-searches, having previously declared the tactic racist and potentially Islamophobic. It's also not clear what local Londoners will now use to cut their food.

Propelled to engage in some politically correct grandstanding, the British parliament is going to take up new legislation. As it happens, this august legislative body is controlled by so-called conservatives:

Parliament is also set to take up heavy "knife control" legislation when it resumes this week. The U.K. government is expected to introduce a ban on online knife sales and home knife deliveries, declare it "illegal to possess zombie knives and knuckledusters in private" — "zombie knives" are those defined as being manufactured for the purpose of being used as a person-to-person weapon — and ban sales of caustic materials to anyone under the age of 18, the Independent reports.

Remember when Churchill intoned:

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Today’s Brits only want to know where they have to go to surrender. It’s a sad day for once- Great Britain.

Knife control sounds sensible. How else do you disarm the idiots with knives afraid of other idiots with knives? A knife isn't a great defensive weapon, Crocodile Dundee being the exception. I expect blunt objects ought to do better for defense, get something between you and the knife until you can retreat.

I lost a harmless pocket knife in a backpack in the check-in before flying home in 2002, all because some terrorists with boxcutters took over some airplanes. Civilization overreacts sometimes times.

You can read about knife control your favorite country or city here, even Texas, and who is going to make fun of Texas?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knife_legislation#City,_County,_and_local_laws
---
A San Antonio, Texas city ordinance makes it unlawful for anyone to knowingly carry within city limits "on or about his person" any folding knife with a blade less than 5.5 inches long with a lock mechanism that locks the blade upon opening. This ordinance is designed to work in tandem with the Texas state statute making illegal the carrying of knives with blades longer than 5.5 inches. The San Antonio ordinance allows police to charge persons carrying most types of lock blade knives without good cause with a criminal misdemeanor violation, allowing police to remove the knife from the possession of the offender, while providing exemptions from the ordinance designed to protect certain classes of people the city assumes to pose no threat to public order.

I had not realized how dangerous I have become. I have for years carried a "Leatherman Tool" in a leather case on my right hip. It contains:
2 Knives - each of which has its on uses
1 File
1 Saw
1 Phillip head screwdriver
2 Flat head screwdrivers
1 Pair of pliers
1 Bottle opener
1 File
It also acts as a ruler
It has been useful in a variety of situations
I like being prepared
Never once have I considered it a weapon.
The sad part here is that with a forge it is rather easy to produce some real weapons that are actually mean to do real damage. It is the same silliness that forgets how easy guns are to make. The only thing that laws like this do is to protect the criminal and make the average citizen an easy target.

Law-abiding citizens will be disarmed to make it easier to prey on them.

I'm sure the police will not be so racist as to apply the new laws to muslims. If they were willing to risk their careers for public safety, they might've done something about the Rotterham rape industry.

Not that it's the fault of the police, almost every attacker seems to be well known to police. It's the scummy PC leaders who prevent effective action and attack those who try.
