A Rape Epidemic in Sweden

An anonymous individual commenting on my post about the attitude of French citizens toward Muslims has suggested that the fault lies with the French themselves. They ought, the commenter suggests, learn to be more tolerant of Islam.

The commenter wrote:

The attitude of French citizens in a way is also a reflection of the difficulties faced by "French Muslims" in integrating into French society. There is an inherent bias against muslims in France, partly because of the significant media surrounding their growing population and possible xenophobic attitude of the native French at a time of world recession. The survey does shed some light on how mistrustful these French citizens have become against their Muslim brothers and sisters. It may mean the emergence of a more "conservative" attitude in France due to multiple factors. It may have been pushed by high unemployment and the more recent media surrounding Islamic insurgents in Mali. It also suggests a great deal of confusion among the French when differentiating between Islamic mainstream and Islamic fundamentalism.

As always, I appreciate thoughtful comments, and this one certainly qualifies.

While reading it, I recalled a story that I read yesterday. It’s about one of the unintended consequences of the arrival of more and more Muslims in Sweden:

Front Page reports:

Sweden now has the second highest number of rapes in the world, after South Africa, which at 53.2 per 100,000 is six times higher than the United States. Statistics now suggest that 1 out of every 4 Swedish women will be raped.

In 2003, Sweden’s rape statistics were higher than average at 9.24, but in 2005 they shot up to 36.8 and by 2008 were up to 53.2. Now they are almost certainly even higher as Muslim immigrants continue forming a larger percentage of the population.

With Muslims represented in as many as 77 percent of the rape cases and a major increase in rape cases paralleling a major increase in Muslim immigration, the wages of Muslim immigration are proving to be a sexual assault epidemic by a misogynistic ideology.

The statistics are skewed by urban centers where the Islamic colonists cluster. In Stockholm this summer there  was an average of 5 rapes a day. Stockholm has gone from a Swedish city to a city that is one-third immigrant and is between a fifth and a quarter Muslim.

Sweden has been very accommodating of its Muslim citizens. One imagines that the new Muslims in Sweden are not Islamic fundamentalists.

Sweden has been paying a dreadful price. One supposes that the ever-gracious and politically correct Swedes will invoke the blame-the-victim logic that Norwegians have used: Muslim men must be excused because they are so unused to seeking women wearing shorts and skirts that they simply cannot control themselves.

As always, we await a statement from NOW.

In today's metaphysical lesson we learn that while we can control our actions, we cannot control the consequences of those actions.

This is not rocket science.

Although, in rocket science you pay lots of attention to the consequences of actions.

It's cultural Darwinism. While the Swedes may believe they represent a superior culture, which graciously invites lesser developed people to enjoy enlightenment, it is the Swedes who delegate the fate of their society, to be determined by a people with a culture which will supersede their own.

That said, to be fair to the Swedish people, the issue does not reside exclusively in their culture, but with people in their society who suffer from delusions of grandeur, and seek to exploit democratic leverage to elevate their political, economic, and social standing.

It's possible that the morally superior individuals possess good intentions, but the outcome, and reason, do not support that conclusion.

The people they invite retain a culture which is largely incompatible with the native population. They immigrate at a rate far exceeding the rate of assimilation.

Also, these morally superior individuals promote "diversity", which is to say, a compromise of principles and values to accommodate the low common denominator (LCD). Democracy has a double-edge when through generational genocide or immigration, a democratic society is overrun.

With consideration for the LCD, and in light of the violence profile, it seems that some people are simply impatient, and are forcing the process.

Jeez Stuart! NOW? You mean the orginization that attacks the only Mid-east country that has woman's rights enshrined into their constitution? Refuse to comment on woman getting stoned to death, for looking at a man who is not their husband? That NOW?

and they wonder why the mens' rights movement is gaining steam.....

DeNihilist,

It would seem that the changing of the American male mind is not all that one poll seems to say it is? It seems to fly in the face of all of this data that shows men not wanting to get married or even be involvement with what passes for the enlightened American woman these days.
You give me an issue you are interested in and I will give you a poll that gives you the answer you want even as the underlying data does NOT state it.
Just to restate, One has to have a "melting pot" approach to the inclusion of people from other cultures vice the "coat of many colors" approach which is easily torn apart at the seams. One allows the good flavors to blend in where it improves the the stew and can be enjoyed by all. Division and diversity share many of the same problems because they break down the ability to grow.
One has to presuppose that people who immigrate did so for some reason or attribution that their own culture could not or would not provide. Why would any country, or state in this country for that matter, want to allow them to create the conditions that they seemed to have run away from in the first place?
We have some trouble with people running away from high tax states like New York, et al and then trying to transport the ideas they saw fit to flee from. If you don't like my way of life then get the HELL out of my state. You came here and I had the sense not to go there. Be like the "melting pot," not the "coat of many colors." Then we can all enjoy the benefits of inclusion.

Interestingly, I have a number of NYC retired police, firemen and sanitation people who I live near and have dealings with and to a person they are good people to have as friends. Whereas the others...............? My next door neighbor was a black retired NYC police detective and his family. What a nice family they were. The next are a homosexual couple of men who are great guys. We took and made part of our properties and turned it into tropical garden with a nice bench that sits in the middle under the trees with a couple of paths to walk through. A great place to just sit and contemplate.
The point is that these people are fitting in and becoming part of our culture.
