How to Network

Karen Burns has some useful advice about why you should network and how you should go about it. Link here.

To follow up, she offers some suggestions on her blog about how to initiate a conversation. Link here.

Here is her most helpful point: "The most important thing to remember is that it's not so much what you say, but that you say something."

For those who believe that in order to meet new people, whether at parties, in bars, or at other social functions, the most important thing is to have a clever one-liner at hand... her advice is excellent. Don't worry about finding the coolest line; just say something.

And it goes well with your post from yesterday: It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Helps to appear (you don't have to BE) relaxed....

Thanks for the plug.
