Defund the United Nations

Nothing is quite as weak and wimpy as a United Nations Special Reporter. This time, one Agnes Callamard, has declared that America was wrong to murder Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s Quds Force, a man who had American blood on his hands. And not just American blood.

When it comes to squeamish the U. N. stands out. CBN News reports:

Agnes Callamard, the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, wrote in her report that UN investigators found no evidence to support Washington’s claim that the drone strike was justified self-defense.  Callamard also concluded that the attack violated Iraq’s “territorial integrity” because the US acted without first obtaining Iraq’s consent.

Furthermore, she argued the US provided “no evidence that threats were imminent” and said the attack was an “arbitrary killing” that violated the UN charter.

She also claimed that in the days following Soleimani’s death, both Iran and the US made statements that focused more on past disputes than any imminent threats linked to the general

"Soleimani was in charge of Iran's military strategy, and actions, in Syria and Iraq. But absent an actual imminent threat to life, the course of action taken by the US was unlawful," she wrote.

Callamard, who does not speak for the United Nations, will report her findings to the UN Human Rights Council in the coming days.

The notion that we should not punish a mass murderer because the U.N. could not find that he was planning any imminent attacks is pathetic and laughable.

As it happens, the Trump administration has withdrawn from the U.N. Human Rights Council:

The US will not participate in the hearing because the Trump administration withdrew from the body two years ago, accusing it of overlooking the human rights abuses of other member countries and having an alleged “bias against Israel.”

Of course, once the Democratic Party takes over the country again, it will rejoin the committee.

The State Department responded:

The US State Department on Wednesday slammed a report from the United Nations calling the US drone attack that killed Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani in January “unlawful.”

"It takes a special kind of intellectual dishonesty to issue a report condemning the United States for acting in self-defense while whitewashing General Soleimani's notorious past as one of the world's deadliest terrorists," said State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus.

"This tendentious and tedious report undermines human rights by giving a pass to terrorists and it proves once again why America was right to leave" the UN Human Rights Council, she added.

But, isn’t it time to take the next logical step: defund the United Nations.

Way past time to take that logical step.
Defund the UN, order every representative and staff out of the United States. All those people can work from home anyway. :-)

While we are at it, let's walk away from every world organization that spits in our face at every opportunity.

Enough is enough.

It is good that this blog is called Had Enough Therapy?

Because the United Nations has always struck me as a globalist therapy session.

Lots of talking, lots of words, yet nothing ever gets done. It just feels good.

I always thought George H.W. Bush's biggest mistake was going to the U.N. for use-of-force authorization in the Persian Gulf War.

The United States doesn't have to answer to anybody. Especially the rotating clown corps of "leaders" at the U.N.

De Blasio should paint "Black Lives Matter" on the street outside the United Nations. Of course he won't, but it certainly would be humorous if he did. But alas, Lefties are humorless.

IAC OCD,
Black Lives Matter painted outside the UN; hilarious, thank you.
